Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are expecting twin girls through a surrogate.

The Hollywood power couple shared the good news on Tuesday after years of unsuccessful attempts to expand their family.

"Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate," a representative confirmed in a statement. "The entire family is overjoyed."

Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, have been married for 12 years and have a 6-year-old son, James. Last night, Parker, who will soon be filming the sequel for "Sex and the City," joined her husband at the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of his latest film "Wonderful World." The two radiated with excitement and Broderick gushed to reporters about his wife, saying, "Doesn’t she look beautiful?"

Indeed, she did. Congratulations to the lovely couple!

While I am very glad James Wilkie Broderick will finally have someone else in his life, I can’t help but wonder why we went the surrogate route. I had a set of twins "late in life" and it was one of the most rewarding and challenging part of my life.
