One of Hollywood’s most famous couples — Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn — have filed for a separation.
The duo married back in 1996 and have two children, but things turned rocky in 2007, when they separated from each another.
They appeared to reconcile last year, but apparently couldn’t work things out, because court records show that they filed for separation earlier this week, Extra! reports.

What a little creep he is…I can’t stand to look at his squinched up face any longer…no movie money from me for him! I guess he should have spent as much time on his family as he did on his anti American rants…
She’ll need deprogramming….
Just something else funny for today… remember Rusty Troller from Breakfast at Tiffany’s? This guy and him were separated at birth….

Sorry, off topic, but it should make you smile :)
Sean Penn is not one of my favorite people: why he thinks that his opinion about Gay Marriage is more important the entire California electorates opinion is beyond me. I’ve liked him in a couple of movies (he was a brilliant stoner in Fast Times at Ridgemont High… but I suspect he’d done his research for that role!, he was also pretty good in Milk, although I did’t think the story was fleshed out enough).
However, this is sad news. They obviously tried to make it work by getting back together. I wish them both, as well as their children, all the strength they will need during the months ahead.
Sean Penn is a highly intelligent, socially conscious individual, and very talented actor. I had great respect for the in-depth First Person series he wrote from Iraq during the worst early days of Bush Inc’s phony war profiteering attack on that country, and that nation’s innocent people.
They live in Marin and are very respected in Northern California…and am sorry to hear about their split but am sure as two very conscious people they will handle it with integrity.
I got to say a quick ‘Hi’ to both of them when I was standing on a corner on Nob Hill where I lived and was flagging down a taxi when they pulled over in a sports car, both smiling, and asked directions. They looked happy and good together. Things happen.
