Shanna Moakler Voices Disbelief in Carrie Prejean, Donald Trump

Shanna Moakler, who announced her resignation as co-director for the Miss California USA pageant organization, has become one of Donald Trump’s and Carrie Prejean’s harshest critics. Speaking on CNN’s "Larry King Live" last night, Moakler said she felt the 21-year-old betrayed her pageant duties and that Trump rewarded her for breaching her contract.

Moakler also said that she couldn’t trust what Prejean said about the topless photographs that surfaced on TMZ. On a May 13 appearance on "The Today Show," Prejean blamed the photographer for snapping photographs without her being made aware of it. She continued and said those photographs were leaked and likened it to a "a photographer going into my dressing room and snapping a photo of me without my being aware." Moakler, who has been modeling since she was 15, thinks Prejean is lying.

Radar Online has a clip from Thursday’s "Larry King," which includes a sound bite from Trump defending his decision. Prejean was scheduled to appear on the show but canceled last minute. Moakler was joined by Miss California co-executive director Keith Lewis, Miss USA judge Alicia Jacobs and Miss Universe president Paula Shugart.

Speaking Thursday evening on CNN’s "Prime News" with Mike Galanos, Moakler said it was that "Today Show" appearance that really pushed her to resign:

After the press conference when I went back to my hotel room, I just really sat down with myself. I don’t believe she is going to comply with the contract, and I wasn’t really happy with what happened at the press conference. I slept on it, and I woke up the next morning and was watching ‘The Today Show.’ I was sitting there watching her basically still make excuses. My biggest problem is that she’s never really taken responsibility for herself. She’s constantly pointing the finger at everybody else.

Upon announcing her resignation, Moakler’s publicist released the following statement:

I cannot with a clear conscience move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth. I want to be a role model for young women with high hopes of pageantry, but now feel it more important to be a role model for my children.

While Moakler’s arguments are understandable, she isn’t exactly the authority on so-called "wholesome" behavior. The 34-year-old mother and former wife of Blink 182 rocker Travis Barker was crowned Miss USA in 1995. Six years later, she posed as Playmate of the Month for Playboy magazine.

Dahlings, I have an idea.  Let’s just all agree that we’ll refer to this story as the "sleeping dog," and let it lie.

The fact that Moakler posed nude years after being crowned Miss USA is a non-issue and frankly, a rather sexist and catty ending to this article.

I agree. When she lied she breeched her contract. That is why she should have been terminated.

*shakes head* this was about breaking the contract - vanessa williams had her crown taken for the exact same reason - there was even a girl from Nevada i believe who was saying she was stripped of her crown because of some modelling pictures she had of herself.

the reason this girl gets a pass is because of the controversy, and thus, the money it creates.

that is what sells- controversy.

remember that next time you watch the news.

I do agree with you that she violated her contract.  However, I wanted to point out (and I didn’t remember this part at first either) the girl from Nevada’s pictures were taken at a drunken party.  They weren’t professional modeling photos.  I do think that is a slightly different situation.  On the other hand, Carrie is now apparently saying she didn’t even know she was being photographed (which is mighty hard to believe)!

it is quite hard to believe, deena. ;)

Agreed! This is about Carrie’s actions, no one else’s. I never heard Moakler claim her own behavior was wholesome. She fulfilled her duties and her "reign". There is no comparison to Miss CA not fulfilling her contract for even one day. Moakler was an adult, her contract long over when she posed nude for the world’s best known girlie magazine. The ISSUE is what Carrie has done. Pointing fingers at others on her behalf in pointless.

Looking for little publicity, Shanna?  Hasn’t this ship already sailed?

Oh ya Nanchan….exactly….being morally outraged is now "hip" and news worthy….so she jumps on the bandwagon as it rolls off into oblivion….

Who really cares about the pics? Which, by the way should be an ideal subject to focus on for young women that think it could be their only claim to fame. It is the perfect situation for Prejean to speak about, to give those young women that are on the verge of being talked into a photo session, the hope for something more.

Perfect issue, Prejean, just the right messenger.

She’s just sorry she ended up on the losing team, no more ‘in’ with The Donald!

Shanna’s smear campaign is one of the most despicable acts of vengeance that I have ever witnessed (and I’m Old .. ha).  She is the Queen of Hypocrisy.  She claimed she wanted to be a roll model for young pageant contestants and now she wants to devote more time to being a roll model for her children.

I can hear her counseling her children:

See darling, if you do a google search for "Shanna Moakler nude" there are 40,000 sites that have pictures of mommy.

Oh, look at this one,

http://shannahotmoakler.blogspot.com/

you can see were you came from when you were born.

Haaa, look here, there’s mommy taking a punch at auntie Paris.  We were just playing cause we were both drunk and the time.

…. What a piece of work she is.

She posed as an adult for Playboy, founded in 1953, the world’s leading men’s magazine, published in 23 foreign countries.

I’m assuming her children have already seen her nude, in the privacy of their home.

At the appropriate age, she will undoubtably tell her children about her nude photographs.

I disagree that she is hypocritical.

And this all comes about because Miss CA said the same thing obama said about gay marriage…..Geeez…..let it go now….The Donald has spoken…..she did nothing wrong….just because  her beliefs are not the same as  those supporting gay marriage…..it is so interesting how the media will go after someone and dig everything up they can to ruin a person just because of how they believe…..Gov. Palin could write a book on that…oh wait…by golly she is!!!

Now Carrie Pregean will be co-hosting Fox and Friends sometime soon….thank you scumbag perez and all your friends who tried to destroy her…you just have made a career for Miss CA…..bet you are just rolling in it now!!!

I do suspect that Carrie Prejean is not being altogether truthful.  I mean, really, she didn’t know she was being photographed??  Not sure I’m buying that one.  I did support her right to voice her opinion and still do.  But I also think she violated her contract.

Now I find myself wondering what is in Ms. Moakler’s closet from her pre-Miss USA days.  No doubt we will soon find out.  Following this story is like watching a tennis match.  I’m not even sure I have an opinion anymore.
