Shirley Jones to Pose Nude for Playboy?

Will Playboy soon feature Shirley Jones? Speculation has grown that the 75-year-old actress — who rose to stardom as the matriarch in "The Partridge Family" — may consider bearing all for the gentlemen’s magazine. However, a representative for the magazine told Access Hollywood that no plans are underway.

Page Six started the rumor mill when they quoted Jones’s husband/manager AS saying that the grey-haired beauty is without a doubt Playboy material.

"She’s still drop-dead gorgeous, and at the age of 75, a natural beauty," said Marty Ingels. "I’m her husband, and I think it would be sensational. Mature women are relevant.”

We couldn’t agree more … Click here for wowOwow’s slideshow of more beautiful, mature women.

I saw this yesterday and thought, Marty Engels should just crawl under a rock!

While I love Shirley and think it’s totally fine if she wants to pose for Playboy, the moment I saw Marty Engels quote on this, I wondered how much he had to do with getting her to pose.  She’s a pretty dignified woman and he?  Well, he’s kind of a sleeze.  If you’ve ever seen the Biography Channel special on her life, his sleeziness just oozes from the screen.  Her sons won’t have anything to do with him, as they feel he has tried to sell her out.

But, Shirley, seriously sister, if this is what YOU want to do, go for it!  I won’t buy the magazine, but don’t let that stop you!

8 to 80, bald, fat, or crazy. If Playboy will pay for it and you want to do it (I emphasize, YOU, not your husband’s wish), put it out there.

But would you buy the magazine if it’s an 80 year old woman?

No, but that isn’t the point. Whether or not one wants to view a naked 80-year old woman or man is irrelevant. That’s like saying Howard Stern should be removed from the radio because you don’t like it - don’t listen to it… oh, wait! That’s exactly what did happen to Howard, isn’t it?

Well, I was just asking!  And it is relevant.  The name of the game is selling magazines.  And since I wouldn’t buy Playboy, I asked you since you are presumably a MAN.

Plus Howard was not removed from traditional radio, he made the CHOICE to move to sattelite radio.  I haven’t listened to my beloved Howard since he left my local station, but understand he’s making even more money now.  At any rate, it was his choice… just wanted to clear that up for you!

Hmmm. I don’t think the gender of the purchaser is relevant either. I have no prurient interest in "mature" human pictures. I do not believe those who do should have to go into a porno shop slake that interest. Again, if Playboy will pay, go for it.

As for Howard, if you are not aware of Colin Powell’s son’s (Michael) personal attention to Howard’s show, you didn’t listen to it frequently enough. Howard made the decision, however.

Boy are you argumentative today!

Agreed on the gender issue, but still think it’s about what will sell mags.

This is not a thread on Howard… there was one about a month ago and I was the only person who posted on it… but yes, I am aware of the pressure Howard had been under for YEARS to tone down his act (this started in the eighties… here’s  a link to his wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Stern where it is detailed).

However, that was not your original point.  Your original point was about how people weren’t listening to him… NOT TRUE!  He had huge ratings in traditional radio before making the CHOICE to go to satelite in order to continue his craft.  So your original point is moot.

Just the thing to do to embarrass the hell out of the grand kids.  I know—Hef needs to invent a new magazine called Senior Playboy.

Well, Lordy, he’s over 80 and his readers are quickly getting there.  Did you see the pix of Cher on Huffington Post today?

This sounds to me like one of those stories where one comment got taken to an extreme and is now being made into more than it really is. I love Marty Engles for saying that about his wife and wish more men his age felt that way about their wives.

My pet peeve is men in their 50’s and up who have this psychotic notion that if they date or marry a female half their age it will somehow by osmosis translate to them being younger. Ugh! I wish more men could appreciate the physical beauty of women of advanced age.

I so agree with you Belinda, saw a program this morning that said men lie about their age to get younger women and women lie about their age to get men their own age.  Men can’t handle the idea of going out with someone their age, makes them feel old, not mature.
