Steve McNair Taped Youth Suicide PSA Before Being Killed in Murder-Suicide by Mistress Sahel Kazemi

Tennessee health officials say they won’t air suicide prevention ad after NFL quarterback’s death; funeral for killer mistress today.

Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair was killed last weekend in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide, carried out by his mistress, Sahel Kazemi. But in an eerie twist, the news today is that the former Tennessee Titans player taped a youth suicide prevention public service announcement with Tennessee health officials before he was killed, CNN reports.

"It seems broadcasting it now is not only inappropriate, but doesn’t serve the community, his family or memory — or the issue we hoped the PSA would help address," said Jill Hudson, a spokeswoman for Tennessee’s Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.

McNair was married and had four children. A public memorial was held for him Thursday. Nashville police said Wednesday that he was fatally shot four times on July 4 by 20-year-old Kazemi as he slept on a sofa in the downtown Nashville condo in which he lived. Kazemi then turned the 9-mm semiautomatic on herself. At one point in the history of their relationship, Kazemi thought McNair was going to leave his wife, and had suspected he was also having an affair with someone else. That could be true. The New York Daily News reports today that a stripper at a Minneapolis club claims she had a six-year relationship with the football player.

Funeral arrangements are set for Kazemi on Friday in Jacksonville, FL.

This is a sad situation.  My sister have spoken about this.  We both originally said that he either told this girl that he wasn’t going to leave his wife or McNair was planning on leaving her.

I feel for his wife and his children.  He was living a life totally separate from theirs.

I have been following this story like so many others.  I always liked Steve for his charitable works.  He was a great team player as well.  But here we go again.  The man had a gorgeous wife and four children, yet takes up with a vulnerable 20 year old waitress who believed he was going to marry her.How sad that two lives ended this way and that four children no longer have a father.  Not only that, but they will always have the memory of the sordid life he was living and the horrific way he died.

Shameful.

Not being a sports fan, I was not previously familiar with this man.  While I have no use for a woman who knowingly becomes involved with a married man, he really does seem to have been sad imitation of a man.  The video of Sahel Kazemi being pulled over by police for drunk driving just astounded me.  McNair and another man were also in the car.  While she was dealing with the police, the two men called a cab and left her there!  She didn’t appear to even know they gone.  What a prince….

I feel so bad for his wife and children and for the family of Sahel Kazemi. What a tragedy for everyone of their family members and friends.

I sit here wondering how parents are going to explain this to their children who idolized this man as their football hero.  It was an absolute delight to watch him playing on the football field. It’s very sad that this is how he was living off the field.

I think history has been made with Libra Lady and L.C. agreeing.

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I disagree with the Tennessee health officials. It is precisely because of the fact he was killed in a murder/suicide scenario that makes running the PSA that much more profound.

A bit of creative license should take place in terms of placing an introduction or end to the PSA that memorializes him. But I think it would hit home to young people. Tangible proof that even those who speak out against suicide can and are touched by the affects of it.

It has only been recently, the last 3 months that I can say I finally understand how a person can get to the point of seriously contemplating taking their life. And although everyone is different, I still say loving intervention by a trusted person, to pull them out of the depths of despair is what is needed. Too bad this young woman didn’t have that trusted person to pull her back into a more logical mindset.

Here’s another one, Kelly.  McNair’s STRIPPER GIRLFRIEND is mourning him.  I hope she showed up for the funeral in her black sequined G-string and did a lap dance on the coffin.  Go read Margo and her "stripper" story.  What is it with men and strippers?  I wanna marry a stripper just like the one…..that ~~~~married dear ole Daaaaaad.~~~~
