'Britain's Got Talent' Contestant Susan Boyle Captures Hearts (Video)
British singing sensation wOws us … and Simon Cowell.

Susan Boyle
Susan Boyle captured the hearts of "Britain’s Got Talent" fans and, more importantly, Simon Cowell, fellow judges and YouTube crawlers.
Boyle, 47 and unemployed, got the crowd standing and cheering within seconds of beginning her rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream,” from "Les Miserables." Check out the crowd as they cheer for Boyle, who some are now saying could win the entire competition.
Actress Demi Moore said the performance "moved me to tears." Will you have the same reaction? We did!

A fianal P.S. here…We can snipe really well here at some who believe differently than we do here, this a great place to share and not diss others ideas and what they believe. A comment made earlier here says it best:
Susan Boyle is Everywoman - the plain women of modest means who are graced with inner beauty - we all know those women; we are those women.
Thanks Maurine for this wonderful tribute to her and to all of us here! You said it well, because we all are that woman here at WOWOWOW.
While watching the "Britain’s Got Talent" video, each of us should check the faces and expressions of the judges and the audience and think about our own first reaction to the contestant. I confess that I was as skeptical and judgmental as the audience and panel. You know if 12 million people check out a YouTube video in less than a week, it’s going to be incredibly good, funny or bad, one way or another. When Susan Boyle began to sing, tears came to my eyes. My next reaction was that perhaps it was a hoax. No one, in today’s world, could be that good and totally unknown.
There are many lessons to be learned from Susan Boyle, the least of which is not to judge a book by its cover. For me the message that sang out was "it’s never too late to be who you might have been." (George Eliott)
This woman’s voice is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever heard.
True, TRUE talent.
All my best to Susan Boyle.
My dears, her beauty is the ability to change a crowd from a sarcastic, belittling group to silent, awe-struck and inspired individuals. No so-called makeover can touch that.
Well done, Susan, dahling.
Has anyone posted the recording of Susan Boyle singing "Cry Me a River." Listen to it here (go to the link and scroll down):

I’ve watched this video over and over, and each time what awes me is Ms. Boyle’s absolute sincerity and simplicity in er presentation of "I Dreamed a Dream." I have heard SO many singers try to put their voice out there, with melisma aplenty, vocal gymnastics of all kinds, drama up the wazoo and diva-like performance tics - but they can pack their bags and go on home. This song is now owned by Ms. Boye. I heard a recording made in 1999 of Boyle singing "Cry Me a River" for a local charity fundraiser, and she had it ten years back, as well. If she has had voice training, and I am sure she has had some, her teacher was smart enough not to instill in her anything more than breath control and projection, because, frankly, she doesn’t need any more than that to wowowow this listener! And I am SO hoping that she is not "made over" to fit some pre-packaged idea of glamour or cuteness - just let that voice go where it will. She is already a beauty.

I heard about Susan Boyle on NPR while ar work, & as soon as I got home I went online to YouTube to catch her performance. I agree with Piers (the first judge) Susan is stunning! You MUST see the entire performance on YouTube, where she claims never to have been kissed, where Amanda (the woman hudge) said it was a priveledge to listen to Susan, & the entusiasm of the host & fellow Scot in the wings. Of course, Simon Cowell claims that he knew she’d be terrific when she first walked out on stage.
One of the British papers is calling her "Paula Potts" for her "unassuming" appearance, the way she surprised the judge & audience, & the way the British public (& the world) have fallen for her.
BTW, Paul Potts’ second album has been released in Europe, but won’t be available here in the U.S. until next month. I loved his first album & have pre-ordered his second "Passione".
