Susan Boyle's Hotel Rant Makes World Headlines (Update)

Britain’s Got Talent’ star singer exploded at a tabloid reporter in a London hotel; her reps say she was ‘provoked.’
By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Some Londoners saw an ugly side of "Britain’s Got Talent" sweetheart Susan Boyle yesterday.

The Sun reports that Boyle, who wowed the world with her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream," lost her cool in the lobby of a North London hotel when two strangers tried to "wind her up." She was heard yelling: "How f***ing dare you! You can’t f***ing talk to me like that!"

Eventually, police who were nearby tried to intervene. Boyle was reportedly furious and crying, then "marched out of the hotel," one witness told the paper. "It took her a long time to calm down from whatever upset her. She was breathing heavily and in a terrible rag. The pressure is obviously getting to Susan. Perhaps all the fame is too much for her."

But Boyle’s spokeswoman said today that a tabloid reporter was responsible for getting her worked up. The 48-year-old Scottish woman has been nicknamed "The Hairy Angel" and mocked on the American TV show "South Park," notes the Times.

“A journalist from a tabloid paper provoked her, the police just happened to be at the hotel and escorted said journalist out after making sure Susan was OK.”

Stay tough, Susan. Don’t let anyone get you down! We think you’re fantastic!

UPDATE: ‘Talent’ judge Piers Morgan penned a piece for The Daily Beast. In said piece - entitled "Susan Boyle is Crying - And My Heart Bleeds," Morgan urges the public - and press - to celebrate, rather than pick apart, Boyle’s success: Susan’s just a sweet, middle-aged lady from a Scottish village, who can’t really comprehend the sheer scale of what’s happened to her," he writes. "And far from decrying her, shouldn’t we all be celebrating the amazing journey she has gone on…"

You know those producers of South Park can be total jerks…it goes to show what society is really concerned about, looks.  Susan, hang tough and give them hell!  I think its great she gave it back to them and didnt back down or try to avoid it.

I agree C, those South Park Creators can be jerks….but that is why people watch the show, because they are jerks and say things people would never dream of saying out loud.  I am not always amused with some of the stuff they do and some of it is downright disgusting but they say "Imitation is the biggest form of flattery."  My favorite was the show where they had Cesar Milan training Cartman….now that was funny. I hope Susan hangs in there, she does have a beautiful voice.  :o)

Well, that certainly sounds like quite an unattractive spectacle.  On the other hand, there really is no excuse for the tactics of some of these "journalists" (and I am using the term very loosely).  I guess everyone has a breaking point.

If the reporter was being mean to her… more power to her. She has the right as a human being to go off on someone like that. On the other hand if it was unprovoked… whatever. she’s still a person. I can thank the high heavens that i’ve never been in the public spotlight. I have one particularly lovely rant at a dry cleaner once that if i’d been famous…. oh boy… would have been SUPER embarrassing. The woman’s a singer… not a saint.

These paparazzis need to back off….they will do anything for a story, and it looks like they got one….at some point in time they have to make some decisions on how far they will go….I know they always say the person they are after is fair game since they are in the public eye….but they do go overboard and taunt the person to get a story and their rage up….look at what happened to Lady Di.

LL there are papparazi out there that will get into a car accident with you on purpose just for a story or to try & make the celebrity look bad, it all comes down to money.  When you get paid for a good picture, some will do anything for that picture.  Why do celebrities have to be stalked just b/c they are actors?  The same for some of the reality tv shows, those people are stalked by the media and the media gets away with it.  Some loose their jobs b/c papparazi wont stop following them, its sad.  I know my hubby would never want cameras following him around, he doenst even like having his picture taken…so no reality tv show for us!  Thankfully!

I wonder how many of us would’ve reacted in a similiar way…with the media following them day and night.   I hope she can maintain her cool.   She seems like an ordinary person in extraordinary circumstances who has been pushed to the max.    Hang in there, Susan.

It never ceases to amaze me how far papparazi "idiots" go these days.  Why there aren’t laws protecting people against them is BEYOND me.  Look what they did to Princess Diana?  I’d be speeding away from them as well.  It is time to change some laws!  Go susan, ignore the idiots!
