Two New wOw Forums to Enjoy!

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Forums galore!

We are continuing to build out our Forums area and this week we invite you to join in Health & Fitness and Home & Garden.

Health & Fitness Forum is a place to discuss healthy habits, fitness challenges and overcoming what ails you. Many members have shared their experiences on everything from cancer to thyroid conditions. We heard you and here’s your forum to share information and receive support. Home & Garden Forum is blooming with several gardening discussions — along with home improvement, pets, entertaining and more.

Don’t forget to stop by our Beauty and SpeakUp forums, too.

Feel free to let us know of any additional topics you would like added.

Have fun!

I want the following forums:

1 - Medical [not to be confused with health and fitness]

2 - Pets

3 - Republican  [and one for the Democrats, though not together]

Medical items are in Health & Fitness for now.  As we see how this goes we can always move discussions to new forums.

Pets is in Home & Garden and you will see we’ve already created a few discussions.

Pets are in Home and Garden…………they don’t get a forum all their own? For shame!

Our pets and/or animals are Home and Garden??  I don’t think so!  Flowers, landscaping, and gardening are Home and Gardens along with decorating, but not pets and animals.

Deborah,

Agreed. Animals are a huge business in the US and for many of us they are family members. They definitely deserve their own regular column. Gee, if wowowow thought about it, since they seem to like gossip columns, they could even do an article on celebrities and their pets.

Andrea, you are right as usual!  Doing articles on celebrities with pets would be a big hit!  If this occurs, you should definitely get the credit for it and infact, you should set it up!  You would be great at this!  Animals absolutely could fill this site under their Own thread/column!  What a Great and fun idea-for once!

Deborah,

It would be interesting to know if they got their pet from the shelter, how they feel about animal overpopulation, etc.

Great questions Andrea and I for one would love to have the answers and their explanations.  This would be very good conversation and might even do some good getting pets adopted.  You have wonderful ideas Andrea and you should really go for this one.  I for one support you and know that many others would also.  Have a good evening!!!!

Please see my comment above.  Many sites put pets, entertaining, etc. under "Home & Garden".  If we see this is popular with more than a handful of people, we will create a separate forum and move the pet-related discussions to it.

I agree with you on the third one!  There is much too much nastiness (instead of good honest discussion) if those who follow one party or another try to meet on issues.  The other two make sense to me as well!

Absolutely, Chris. Too many times many of us have posted good information, only to have someone shanghai it by writing something mean-spirited which not only gets THEIR post deleted, but other posts as well. So all that work for naught. I believe that by having separate Dem and Rep forums we can explore the issues independently without being censored.

Passionate politics can get messy, and its sad when some who have good points to express but get a little hot headed and forget to treat others with the respect that they want to be treated with in these kinds of discussions (This has included me at times - though I have tried to back away lately.).  If we had separate forums that would allow the rants without the escalating tempers to flair.  There would be fewer needs to censor without that opposing view that very well might set off tempers.

I hope when they develop new forums, they’ll consider this well thought out idea!  Oh, and for those of us with pets the idea to have a place to share the antics and fun of our furry family members would be really great too!!

Chris,

Agreed. And I’ve hit a few of those rough patches myself. But I’ve discovered that the instigators never really have anything to contribute. They just jump in and create chaos.  We know who they are and it surprises me to no end that these people haven’t been blocked from returning.

What kind of pet[s] do you have?

If you saw Nightly News tonight you already saw this story which is beautiful. If you didn’t see the program, check out the video:

I am a dog lover and have three Humane Society friends.  All three are mixed breeds except our littlest is a full beagle.  They’re all characters and each holds a special place in my heart.

I missed Nightly News so will check it out - thanks for letting me know about it!

Chris,

Dogs hold a special place in my heart. I love all of them. Each has, as you pointed out, a unique personality. One dog thought he was a cat - played like one, stretched like one, and even walked like one. Another was a quiet little marshmallow, would never ask for anything, and loved to be petted. The list goes on and on. Many were abused and/or on death row in the shelter, even my avatar, MeeToo. They’ve all brought me so much joy.
