A call for something positive! What has made you laugh lately? (A book, a movie, a show, a joke?)

Joan Ganz Cooney Laughs at 'Daily Show' Bobby Jindal Skit (Video)

Jon Stewart critiquing Bobby Jindal’s speech (which followed Obama’s major address last week). Stewart compared Jindal’s delivery with that of Mr. Rogers of "Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood," and it was spot-on and very funny.

Liz Smith on Hysterical NYMag Piece That Said Post Fired Her ...

The writer Jonathan van Meter’s perfectly hysterical comment in New York Magazine, to wit: "Last week the Post fired Liz Smith but not cartoonist Sean Delonas."

(Mr. D. is the guy who executed the cops-killing-an-ape cartoon that put the NAACP to picketing the newspaper!)

Candice Bergen on Steve Martin and Kristin Scott Thomas

Maybe Steve Martin on "SNL" two weeks ago. And weep? Just saw Kristin Scott Thomas in "I’ve Loved You So Long." OMG. What a brave, powerful performance. Just a sidebar.

Julia Reed: Laughter and 'Life on Mars'

Everything makes me laugh — thank God — but one thing that has been making me pretty consistently happy is my new absolute favorite TV show, "Life on Mars," set in 1973 New York City, complete with the fabulous Harvey Keitel in while slip-on shoes. It is so well written, well shot and well acted (Gretchen Mol is wondrous), and the soundtrack is out of sight. Every week it makes me laugh — and cry — and I can’t wait for the next installment.

Joan Juliet Buck 'Howls' at 'Onion TV' (Video)

"Onion TV" makes me howl with laughter every time.
It’s funnier than The Onion newspaper. It is witty, sharp and so well performed that it looks real.
And the deadpan approach is everything I need right now.
It’s enhanced my life and may save the world through derision.

Elaine —-Yes, I saw the show.  I think the best part of Glan Beck is his laid back attitude with interviews.  He just sat and let the idiot spew out all his junk.  The guy was an absolute jerk and every time he opened his mouth, Beck slowly put him away!  Just too good to miss!

Lily Tomlin makes me laugh.  I still think of her Mother’s Day video from last year when she is in the drugstore looking for a card.  Boy- it was comic genius in my book.

Carrie Fisher’s new book:  Wishful Drinking.  I really, really want an hour with her. I think she and I could be great friends.  I can’t read it in bed anymore because I keep waking my partner up laughing so hard.  Get this book!

“A call for something positive! What has made you laugh lately? (A book, a movie, a show, a joke?)” It is very easy for me to find the humor in everything. I laugh at my co-workers jokes, television commercials, shows etc. I laugh at myself. Even when someone makes me mad a few days latter I find the humor amid my anger and frustration. I did not realize I laugh everyday and it is what keeps me going until this question.

A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, ‘What are all those clocks?’ St. Peter answered, ‘Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move.’ ‘Oh,’ said the man, ‘whose clock is that?’ ‘That’s Mother Teresa’s. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie.’ ‘Incredible,’ said the man. ‘And whose clock is that one?’ St. Peter responded, ‘That’s Abraham Lincoln’s clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life’ ‘Where’s Barack Obama’s clock?’ asked the man.’ Obama’s clock is in Jesus’ office. He’s using it as a ceiling fan.
