What Joan Ganz Cooney Dislikes About Herself

Joan Ganz Cooney
Like most people, I’ve had quite a few challenges in my life but I never thought of myself as brave in facing them. Oddly enough, after all these years, I still have very bad stage fright when I speak to an audience, but I don’t think of it as bravery that I muddle through somehow. I just dislike myself for being so nervous.

If you haven’t already you might want to try "Rescue Remedy" which has allowed us some truly stunning performances through the years by actors who otherwise would have gone onstage and stood there staring out at the audience with the proverbial "deer in the headlights" look on their face.

All of us, unless we’re natural hams, have a little "stage fright" at times in our lives.  Some join Toastmasters, a wonderful organization, and some carry Rescue Remedy.  The difference is Rescue Remedy gets you on the stage or up to the podium. Toastmasters teaches you how to be eloquent in the delivery.

Thought Field Therapy works! Check out the work of Robin Bilazarian MSW. It’s quick and easy, and I know from experience that it is effective. No pills, no classes, a seemingly simple tapping process that apparently effects changes in the brain. I was paralyzed with fear of public speaking for years, and now am anxiety-free. I use it for a variety of situations with my clients.

I am not a celebrity but was in Drama Club and Choir as a child.  A bit of "stage fright" is common.  I learned to think of the audience as my friends and collegues.  Sharing an evening of wonderful entertainment or if a seminar learning new thoughts.
