The Tonys. Where else could you get the chance to see musical excerpts from all those wonderful shows. I don’t really care who wins. I watch it for the music.
The Oscars have become very boring, particularly the acceptance speeches! Ditto the Emmys and Golden Globe. The Indies are still informal and amusing but who knows how long that will last.
I don’t watch the awards shows. I do sometimes look at which plays won Tonys and which movies won Oscars because that might make me want to catch something I missed. I always feel the award shows are for the "stars" preening for each other.
I agree about MTV Awards - irreverent and flamboyant. The Golden Globes are fun because everyone is relaxed - i.e. sloshed. This year the Tonys were pretty entertaining, and Neil Patrick Harris was a total revelation, especially his closing song: "This couldn’t be much gayer/If Liza was made mayor…" ROFL!
Last night’s Tony Awards was,for me, WONDERFUL! When I moved from NYC to Albuquerque I knew that I would miss the food and most of all the Broadway musicals. I get that little taste of "heaven" once a year watching the Tonys.
i used to watch the oscars and the music awards. but now i don’t watch any of them. i just don’t have time and i can get all the run down later if i really want to see who shows up. big deal. most of the ppl i like never make it anyway. so that’s another reason.
I did like the last 5 minutes of Brian Williams’ Nightly News program when he showed a clip of some deserving person or group giving back to the community. That is a more powerful statement to me.

I totaly agree. The Toney award show is a class act all the way. Three cheers for Angela Lansbury!
None of the above.

But did they drop that section recently?
