Lew Parker, who played the father on That Girl’. His talent was amazing, and that role fit him like a glove. He was absolutely brilliant. Redd Foxx on Sanford & Son was quite good, too. Carroll O’Connor on All in the Family was also incredible.
My first inclination was to go with "Father Knows Best" [Jim Anderson], but after all was said and done I had to go with John-Boy’s dad. Why? Because the show itself was a near-replica of my mother’s family of origin. My Grandpa was a coal miner and a carpenter and had so many of the same values and wishes for his kids [and grandkids] that were seen on the television program.
The Waltons were also a favorite of mine ,read my post for details.
P.S. I like your suggestion. I’m going to find a photo of my baby Dread and use it as avatar. Dread looks like Bo. I am not exaggerating ! … You’ll see soon!
I travelled to Jamaica on vacation several times. There are Jamaicans known as Rastafarians. They wear their hair in very tight twisted curls that grow long are very beautiful. These curls are called Dreadlocks. I called him Dreadlocks then Dread and my mother called him Dready. He was a toy poodle. I let his hair grow long and it ended up looking like Shirley Temple curls. His hair was the texture and color of Bo’s. His face looks exactly like Bo’s.

Enrico Colantoni from "Veronica Mars"
The question isn’t who would you want as your "father figure"….?
I think Dick Van Dyke for a TV dad was pretty cool…..
Also Lorne Greene on "Bonanza"…
Goodmorning MeeToo and Andrea Brandon!

LC,
Talk about all warm and fuzzy with the Waltons. No slouchers there either. Loved that show.
Will be looking for the avatar of Dread. But I must ask how he got that name.

LC,
Better check out the link. Maybe Dread was a Puli. [Blow up the photo.] They come in white and black and I supposed a mixture.
