Lunching at Michael’s With The Original “Mad Men” (and Woman)

Mary, Charlie, George and Jerry: “The Mount Rushmore of Advertising” (so says Joe Armstrong)

wOw’s  co-founder Mary Wells Lawrence was honored in New York City at a Michael’s restaurant luncheon celebrating the Madison Avenue giants whose creative genius inspired the hit series “Mad Men” — returning this month after a year and a half hiatus.

Left to right: ad man George Lois, New York Times advertising columnist Stuart Elliott, Financial Times journalist Andrew Cracknell (who just published The Real Mad Men, The Renegades of Madison Avenue and The Golden Age of Adverting) host Joe Armstrong (publisher of New York Magazine and Rolling Stone during that magical era), our Mary, CEO of Wells, Rich and Greene, Charlie Moss, former creative director  of Wells, Rich and Greene, Jude Kelly, creative director of Southbank Centre in London, and ad man Jerry Della Femina

One comment so far.

SUCH a magical era in advertising that will never be touched .  .  . and to see all the famous names and faces again honoring Mary Wells had to have made it a must special day.  How wonderful — and Mary obviously swallowed the fountain of youth!!!  WOW indeed!  joan
