Candice Bergen: A Change for the Better

Candice Bergen
Groove back? What does this mean exactly? I know Obama has now been criticized for smiling too much (really, can’t people just get a life?) but the O-couple are doing an enormous amount to restore people’s confidence. It will be a long time before everything stabilizes and rights itself, but lately there seems to have been a change for the better.

Good luck to the Prez…but I too think that he smiles sometimes at the wrong time and too often…like a TOOTH PASTE AD…just my observation .

Why should he stop smiling? People have nothing better to say anymore about the President.

Let’s face it — the President has the best smile we’ve seen since we first met Julia Roberts.  And why not — he’s doing a job he loves, he’s doing it better than any president in a very long time, he has a wonderful family, and he’s making a difference in the country and around the world.  Are we getting our groove back?  It depends on what we learn about consumption and greed — all of us — but certainly the President is sending the right signals —  a mix of both confidence and caution.

Barbara…I couldn’t agree more!  At least Obama’s smile is GENUINE as opposed to the person who had that office before!  I think Obama is doing a GREAT job!  Just remember that he has a big job; i.e., shoveling EIGHT YEARS of sh*t out of the White House before he can REALLY get started!

I have been very happy with what he has done so far and I’m sure he will continue!

Well said Barbara and Candice.  I am confident that we as Americans with the right leadership, will turn this thing around. And I think we have the leadership.  Can we not find something else to complain about?

I’m with you folks. In my lifetime I have never felt like this about a president. When he was running he was the first candidate that ever inspired me to get involved in an election, much less donate money. I was one of those 25 bucks at a time people. And he inspired me to get more involved with my community and I volunteer more. When he was overseas last week…I felt proud he was my president. Living in a predominantly republican area I’ve often been acused of drinking the koolaid…but I dont care…I think he is great and doing a good job.

People have officially run out of things to complain about if they are complaining that Obama smiles too much.

I never argue with Ms. Candice Bergen. I still want her to reprise her role as Murphy Brown, but hey, she just finished being a great lawyer on "Boston Legal". Whatever, she has the right idea about President Obama and our country.

Betcha’ if Murphy was President none of this would have happened.  :-)

I agree or at least she would have had hard-nosed interviews to get people to own up to their actions.

Yes, she would have had them quaking in their boots. She wrote the book on accountability.

I must admit I did not vote for him and I know Republicans who did.  I really like what he has done so far and I like his smile and I think it is geniune. The verdict is still out on what kind of job he will do, but I give him my support & blessings to get us out of this mess.  George dissapointed me big time these last four years.  Getting our groove back means we are all Americans and want our President to succeed.  Smiling is a good thing.

I didn’t vote for him either but I’m an American first and to me that means that I support my President and hope he has the knowledge and perseverence to make things better for us.

I love his smile and the heart behind it. He is a good man, and to top it off, highly intelligent… just what the doctor ordered for what’s ailing the country.
