Cynthia McFadden Defends Cable
In response to: As serious as this economic downturn is, are we overreacting?
Yes, I think pessimism is viral and no, sadly, I don’t think people are overreacting. As for the cables … I limit myself to an hour a day — though I scarcely think the cable shows can be blamed for the mess in our banking system and the greed on Wall Street.

Overreacting? Can we make that judgement on those who have lost their homes, gotten stung by Maddoff, or lost most of our "paper" savings due the NYSE downturn.
There are always 2 sides to the story. Those who blame Obama, have not given the man a chance. In office for not even a quarter, inheriting the mess created by former Presidents, the jury is still debating. Has he made poor decisions? Yes ! BUT, lets wait to see if his ideations won’t bear fruit.
Many have profited from this recession. Though fewer in numbers (as they always are) they have also been stung, but not enough to cause them to loose everything they own. Greed is not a new phenomna. Since discovering the way to buy, man has fallen prey to it’s ugly green head.
One of our biggest monsters is the internet. Does anyone agree?
Linda,
Just curious about your statement that one of our biggest monsters is the internet? What do you mean?
Most people would perfer to get on the internet, and lie. That is the biggest monster, I have encountered. President Obama has done very good considering what we have gone through the last 8 yrs. But people is so in hast too see him fall, but tell me where were those people when the 8 yrs was pulled down around our ears. So many of our children lost their lives. Give the man a chance, he did not make the this mess, and he can not clean it up in 6 months.
