Jean Chatzky: New Year, New Book! (Video)

Jean Chatzky

This morning on the "Today Show," I launched my new book, Money 911. As I told Matt Lauer, no one (at least no one I know) is going to read this book from start to finish. I wrote it to be a reference. Because when you need an answer to a financial question, you need it NOW and you need it from someone you can trust. So my aim is for it to sit on your night table (or your shelf) where it will eventually become as dog-eared and worn as my favorite cookbook (Mark Bittman’s How to Cook Everything) is today or as my copy of What to Expect When You’re Expecting was during my two pregnancies.

And please, if you don’t find your question in the book (although with some 500 questions contained, I don’t know of many that aren’t), I hope you’ll take the time to ask me in this space. Part of the reason I’m here is to answer them.

Happy New Year!

Interesting sounding book, a reference book is what I need at times. I will have to check it out, thanks.

Despite the "emergency" sound of the 911 in the title, this seems like a solid, basic reference that could be used to not get into financial trouble in the first place.  Every high-school kid should have one of these and get to know the principles in it before launching into the world (or off to college).

Perhaps I am not clear on the concept, but on 1/1/2010, several people ( including me) voiced concerns about finance, expecting feedback.  The only answer to date is to first read the book.  Then questions will be addressed?
