Joan Ganz Cooney to Graduates: 'Get a Job'
In response to: Given our current economic/career environment, what advice would you give to a 2009 graduate?
Get a job, any job that will pay the rent, and start plotting your move (it will take time and peristence) into something you feel passionate about.

Ditto - just get to work! Period. Too many graduates have not worked enough in their lives, and they’re spolied. They must learn to work, and work very hard. No promises, no nothing, just get to work.
There’s work available if you really want to work. There are too many people who believe certain jobs are beneath them. There are those who want to start at the top and bark at working their way up.
I also believe in voluntarism, sometimes this can lead to a paying position.
Ms. Ganz, First i must say how much you look like Laura Bush, that is a good thing our both good looking women. I met her once at Bethisda Naval Hospital in Maryland. My ten minutes of fame, lol
Anyway, I would tell graduates to "Do what ever job you can to get you were you want to be", "Don’t look negative at any job, because your setting your self up for failure and to hate what your doing" , "know that your education doesn’t stop after graduation, it continues all your life."
