For my husbands insurance is from the NY Carpenters union.  I think you should be able to compair and get the best value for your money.

As long as health insurance companies are in control, writing the rules, there will be NO competitive difference whether you could buy from out of state or out of country.  We let a spoiled child go out of control for too long and it is now going to be the death of the parent!  Public Option is the only way!  I have pre existing conditions.  Could not get health insurance at any price.  You are one illness/condition from being away from that, too.

Being able to buiy health insurance across state lines improves the chances of monopolies not reduce.  It also improves competition which lowers cost not raise.

I am definetly for buying health insurance across state lines.  Car insurance has a competitors market and so should health insurance.  I dread the thought of what kind of mess the government would make if we allow them to be in control of this.  They have done so poorly with everything they have managed from medicare, social security, fannie mae and freddie mac, the post office etc. etc.  It could be a nightmare putting them in charge of our health care.  I want less government involvement, not more.  The one question I have and can’t seem to get an answer to is ……Why would they not have the exact same health care for every American including government officials and the President, if its suppose to be so good for us?  If its good for us then they should be willing to provide it for themselves.
