Kim Dozier: A Race Well Run

Kimberly Dozier
Editor’s Note: Kimberly Dozier has been a CBS News correspondent since 2003. A Wellesley graduate, she started her career at CBS radio in Cairo in 1992. She moved to Israel, where she has had a home outside Jerusalem since 2003. Her new book, Breathing the Fire, is about her surviving — and what it took to recover from — a car-bomb attack while she was on assignment in Iraq.
Thanks to everyone who contributed for the Fisher House Team’s 10K run this weekend – part of the Marine Corps Marathon.
My single 1:20 or so run (at a penguin pace, but hey, I finished, and I never stopped running) raised more than $13,000 for Fisher House, where my colleague Cami McCormick’s family has stayed since she was hit in Logar province last August. Fisher House provides a place to stay for the loved ones of patients in the trauma setting, and 97.5 cents of every dollar given to Fisher House goes to supporting troops and their families.

Donations are accepted through the end of the year – check it out at by clicking here.

CONGRATS! Kim on finishing the race. Thank you for sharing.
I am very interested in reading your book. I have a relative in Iraq right now. First one since the war started. We are all praying for her safe trip home next year.
