Happy Birthday, Nordstrom!
Nordstrom’s anniversary sale begins today and lasts until August 3.
Happy birthday, Nordstrom!
Nordstrom is one year older today and in celebration of its birthday, the fabulous department store launched a noteworthy sale. Nordstrom’s special anniversary sale starts today and ends August 3. Regardless of your social or economic status, finding deals on favorite name brands is always a thrill. The sale promises discounts on the latest Fall finds, including a Burberry strap watch for $197 (usually $295) and Tory Burch "Romy" ballerina flats for $230 (usually $345). Most items are discounted roughly 40 percent.
The first store, co-founded by John W. Nordstrom, opened in 1901, in downtown Seattle, and only sold shoes.

Another Nordstrom’s fan here! I have to drive over an hour to Providence RI to be there in person, but within a couple of years there will be one about 15 minutes from my house. Hooray!!!
Fabulous customer service, in person and online. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Nordstrom’s is in Natick and Danvers now, but will be coming to the South Shore Plaza in Braintree in the future - the Macy’s/Jordan Marsh store is being renovated and expanded to accomodate it. I can’t wait! We love Providence Place for a ‘field trip’.
My sister raves about ‘Nordstrom’s Rack’. Do you have one of those near you? She lives in Towson MD.
Yes, we have a Nordstrom’s Rack nearby but I’ve never had any luck there : (
My daughter and grandchildren live in Rhode Island. I fly up for long weekends every three months. The children love to go to Providence Place!
Deber, I enjoy reading about your involvement with your daughter and her children. I am not at that stage yet, but I can begin to see how wonderful it will be! Right now I am thrilled that my son is heading to the Cape for the weekend and my daughter has a sleepover tomorrow night - that means peaceful, blissful sleep for me because I won’t be listening for anyone coming in!
My daughter only has a half day of work today so I think she and I will head to the yacht club pool for a few hours - that’s good girl time and no money will be spent. She has been complaining that we haven’t had much time to spend together lately - imagine that from a 17 year old!
My sister will drive out of her way on a roadtrip if there happens to be a Nordstrom’s Rack between point A and point B. She must be their best customer. When our niece had a baby, she brought in a truckload of cute stuff from Nordstrom’s and said she paid less than $100!
Thank you, Green Tears. I have two daughters and a son and three grandchildren by the oldest daughter. The other two are blissfully single finishing up masters degrees and buying their first homes. The older they get the more we seem to have in common. Since I retired from interior design they keep me busy with decorating ideas for their new condos. It’s great fun being their Mom. Soon, all of us will gather for a week at the beach. We cook, grill, sun, shop, play cards and games with the little guys…soothe their little temper tantrums, read them books, put aprons on them and place them at the sink with a bowl full of "something" to stir endlessly. I make homemade pasta so I always give them some "dough" to play with. The older grandchild is a bit of a soulmate of mine…I’ll start to say something and hesitate searching for the rest of the words and he chimes in with what he thinks I’m trying to say. It’s a hoot!
Have fun with your daughter. You need that time together.
