Crooked Cleric Steals for Plastic Surgery | 04/07/2009 9:10 am

Rev. William Blasingame Allegedly Stole Church Funds to Pay for Botox

The Reverend William Blasingame’s perfect face wasn’t a gift from God.

Rather, the New York pastor’s big blue eyes, chiseled chin and defined cheek bones were the result of plastic surgery and Botox — all of which were allegedly purchased with his parish’s funds. In an attempt to turn back the hands of time, 66-year-old Reverend Blasingame reportedly stole $84,537 from his congregation, St. Paul’s Memorial Episcopal Church, on Staten Island.

The funds were supposed to go towards up-keeping the church’s Victorian Gothic charm; however, sources say the cleric has been pocketing cash since January 2005.

Blasingame, who resigned from the church earlier this year, was slapped with second-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal possession of stolen property. The crooked cleric was arraigned in criminal court on Friday and released without bail. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison — and surely a lot of Hail Marys. He’s due back in court May 12.

Religion or people?  This man using Church money isnt funny, its sad that he choose to make such a bad mistake…has nothing to do with religion other than he choose that as his career, he obviously doesnt have morals.

Mr. Frank, maybe your religion but my religion is the relationship I have with GOD, not the kind of relationship anyone else has with Him…that is religion, not the "follies" who preach it.  You dont follow them, you follow the Bible and what you believe..Oh Lordie Frank, you believe what you will…

I have no relgion Ms H—gave it up decades ago after I saw what happened in war—also read the old testament:  a portrait of a murdeous vengeful, deity that made me sick to my stomach. So religion is people and their follies now for me. I seriously doubt anything will ever change my views on relgion.

The Old Testament is more violent than those Saw movies. Gross manipulation of the image of God as an angry war-hungry mutant in the sky who will damn you to hell if you disobey - but he loves you.

Episcopalians do not say Hail Marys.  Only Catholics do that.

Prisons need repentent priests, too.

For the situation to get this far, he had to have been mentally ill or an extreme narcissist.  Either way, I feel for the folks who gave their hard-earned money thinking it was going to a greater good.

The solution to this problem is simple. The congregation sues the plastic surgeon who made the reverend’s face look like a hunk of cheese. They get their money back, plus some extra to get the guy some counselling for narcissism. Everybody wins. Easy peasy.

The doctor did nothing wrong! The congregation should direct their anger to whom deserves it - the thief! And counselling for narcissism? How about jail time for theft!

Forget the counseling for narcissistic personality disorder. Waste of money.

Has anyone heard of the Botox Bandit in Newport Beach?
