Ruth Madoff Received $2M from Husband's UK Office

Prosecutors may have a new angle to take on Ruth Madoff, the wife of Ponzi schemer Bernie. The Wall Street Journal reports today that Mrs. Madoff received $2 million from Bernie’s UK-based business just weeks before his arrest. British sources tell the paper that the overseas operation "played a significant role in the operation." Mrs. Madoff’s lawyers had no comment, but we’re sure they’ll have to pipe up if and when investigators come knocking.

This woman needs to be in jail. She new what her husband was doing. She helped with the books.

I really don’t care if she gets jail time but the money the family is trying to hide needs to be taken and given to all who were ripped off. I think it would be good if Mrs. Madoff had to live on nothing!

Grab all their assets and jail her!  She should have to hunt for soda cans in the street to survive! She and her family along with those close to Bernie knew what was going on!

I agree that his family knew what was going on.  There was no way he kept all this to himself nor do I think he thought of this sceme alone, I am sure his wife helped w/ the planning of it. 

I am totally shocked their funds were not tracked down and stopped immeditaly…I do agree once all the money is located & their assessts are sold, that money should go back to those who lost everything to these magets.

I believe their sons and employees all were in on it also.. Listen, to hear Madoff say he did it all himself is horse feathers.. No CEO of any company I have ever heard of, lifts one finger to do anything an employee has to do..Oh my… this makes me furious..
