Christine - I hope you truly know how very amazing you are!! Your writing should be published, bought and devoured because it is insightful, poignant and most of all incredibly truthful. Please know that you were a blessing to me today - and that alone gives hope for the future - yours and mine! God bless!!

Thank You, Sharon. Writing is one of my three gifts. I write poetry and other short inspired peices. I finished my first book over a decade ago. It is one of the three careers I have been so desperately searching for help to get started. I can not even afford to print and mail a query letter to any publishers, let alone a manuscript. I almost made it online once until the agent willing to represent me needed a professional critique of my works. That was the wall that stopped me there. Even with a discount it was $85.00. I am searching dumpsters to provide for our needs. $85.00 is the same as a million. No money is no money. Simple as that. But, To know that I was a blessing to you was a great gift to me. Thank You.

I’ve wondered where you were………..I remember reading your comments a year ago.

It doesn’t sound like you are in any better situation now than you were then.

That’s sad.

You are right it is sad when people sit around talking about how good they are; but, when someone comes along asking for help they give a hundred reasons why they won’t. As for me, it is to be expected that I am worse off today than a year ago since no one has stepped forward to help. If I were God and could create my own miracles I would not be in here searching for that help. I would be in here instead searching for others to give hat help to.

Christine—Please post your website again.  You haven’t posted in awhile, and I am sure there are folks who would love to see your unique artwork.  Please post it, because I believe in you, and your struggle.

A mug of my special blend tea and a good book does the trick for me as does a walk to our beautiful lake here in Lake Geneva, WI.

I have never understood the "can’t have fun without spending money" mindset.  My parents taught us all to entertain ourselves.  My daughter was taught the same.  She and I will make up stories about things that inconvenience us (my favorite and hers is the story about Sammy the Squirrel who gave his life in the service of the See I Aye while spying on us from the elecrical transformer across the street from our house.  He was fried in the line of duty, we were out of power for three hours, but Sammy gave his life, so we went to Denny’s while they worked on the power and had a wake for Sammy).

I gave up chocolate, pork and beef for Lent this year (brutal!) so reading about the chocolate here is NO FUN (I’ll be eating Dove Dark next Sunday though!).  My food comforts tend to be more savory:  if I’m in a really deep depression, I must have Mexican food (I’m from So Cal and I grew up basically drinking salsa).

Of course, there’s nothing quite like the following to totally bring me out of a depression: a good movie and a glass of wine.  Favorites (depending on situation): Office Space (when you want to rip your coworker or boss’s face off), Spinal Tap (when you feel that life can’t get any worse, at least you don’t have to share a dressing room with a puppet!), Gone with The Wind (when you feel like a shallow b#$%, just compare yourself to how they portray Scarlett in the film, totally different than the fabulous book), Ben Hur (at least I’m not in the slave galleys of some boat!) are some of mine.  And if I need to get invigorated,  I’ll watch a DVD of Dallas.  I don’t know why, but just hearing that theme song makes me want to rule the world!

Great topic, WOW!

I read a book.  Get out in the garden.  Take a walk. Listen to my music, which I do whether the going is good or bad.  I talk to my friends, and get around my children and grandchildren.  And, everything on my list is free of monetary cost…

I selected Lipstick - my wife’s.   I love the warm soft tender effect it can radiate upon me anytime, but especially when she helps kiss away my problems.

Videos provide psychic escape from trouble.  Solitary walks allow me to grieve in private if that is what I need.  Indulging in food cravings just makes me fat and makes me feel worse.

Little Fefe ~ There is nothing wrong with being too idealistic. It is just your dreams sparkling.

I crave my family and friends (including the lovely people here on WOW) for love and support through the hard times. Nothing material could bring about the same sense warmth and unyielding comfort that these human beings bring about on a daily basis.

BUT… I guess if I HAD to choose it’d be my endless trips to the library and my dvd collection :)
