I’d think a surefire business today would be something to do with health care. There are going to be an awful lot of old folks in America for the next 20 years and they are going to be very needy.

Mary Wells: 'We Aren't a Recession-Proof Species'

I don’t think businesses or banks or even governments can be recession-proof in this world because we aren’t a recession-proof species. I think it would help if we started teaching young students how to be recession-proof individuals from their first day in school.

It isn’t a new idea but in our small retirement area, teaching computer classes for seniors at a local Senior Citizens Center and setting up Computer Systems, Printers, Scanners in home and teaching private in-home basics on how to use them.  That isn’t available here.

It would have to be health care. Nurses, physical therapy, X-ray technicians, ER people, etc.

I’d open a beach shack in Chesepeake Bay and serve hot, steamy mugs of coffee, huge home-made biscuits and honey, and sell Cracker Jacks at the cash register. Then, leave October 15th. for the tropics. Any stimulus money for this?
