I have already voted via early ballot, but I want to hear what they have to say and how they say it. News Junkie here, front and center. CA

Yes, but I don’t know what for. I watch them with my 15 year old. I used to think it was a good civics lesson, but they have been on the trail so long they just repeat the same things over and over again. I don’t think it will be any different. I would be surprised if it was. I think there should be a law about long campaigns. I saw an interview of Chris Rock by Charlie Rose and he talked about his early days when he was a DJ for parties. He said he learned many important lessons. Never play 4 or 5 hits in a row because it got the people so excited fights would break out. Fights are now starting to break out because people are sick and tired of the election right on top of this major financial crisis. I feel like I want to sue the candidates that started so early for mental abuse. I’ll throw in a couple of media moguls along with that.

If you need to blame someone, blame the states who fought to have their primaries first. The candidates had little choice, they even got into trouble because the Democratic party tried to put a stop to it by threatening not to count deligates for Florida and I can’t even remember what the other state was it has been going on so long. Just a reminder in case you forgot how this all started. Bev. I’m tired too!

Blame the DNC for disenfranchising voters of Florida and Michigan. If the Republican big-wigs hadn’t decided on Sarah Palin, I’d have voted for McCain just because of that. It’s total crap! Just because the DNC wants to maintain a controlling position in each state… BTW: I also voted asap… Oct 6th here in CA.

Beverly They started almost 9 - 10 months before those primaries. Once Sen Clinton threw her hat in the ring it was off and running. I think her plan was to get people used to seeing her and accept her as an executive. Then Sen Obama jumped in and everyone and anyone decided it was time to make their plans known - Dems and Repubs.

Frannie, Maybe we can do a class action suit. My friends, my sister, my family—-we are mentally exhausted! Mental anguish. I just want the fights to go away and the fear to stop. Let’s all make sure to see Charlie Rose so we can have our sanity restored.

Amen to that. In terms of broadcast, I’m only watching The NewHour, BBC World News, and Charlie Rose for my attempted edification. The rest of them are bad for my blood pressure and my belief in Democracy.

Diana I have been disengaging because this is ridiculous. It is not doing any good. We the people have to get it together and really send a message to our representatives. They get so much money, have long campaigns, end campaigns with a big war chests that they use any way they want to. They look on it as theirs and for their own promotion. Congressmen paying off their legal fees for their lawbreaking, or mistresses to keep their mouth shut with money from special interests and their constituents. How did it ever get so twisted? Have we become so predictable as a people that the media knows just what to do to push our buttons? Everyone gets up in arms instead of keeping their heads. I can’t tell whether it is bad science fiction or a terrible soap opera. I wish it was November 4th.

EKA Okay EKA, I’ve got a confession. I turned on The View today. I read what you said on another thread and tried again. I came in late, but it was funny, may start watching again. ;-)

Dab-a- do
Good call Frank. However, I am a glutton for punishment and insist on being bored as often as possible so I will be glued to the old TV and pop Valium often and without water because I wouldn’t want to take a bathroom break and miss something I have heard during this long campaign at least a hundred times.
