A 'How-To' Video Made for the Technically-Challenged

Joni Evans

Dear Friends:

For those of us who are technically-challenged, Liz Smith, our "tech guru," gives a quick lesson on how to use the wowOwow site. Watch the video below.

And, have you noticed? The wOw Contributors have started responding directly to some of your comments. So check back on your old comments and often you’ll find us. And, more and more.

XOXOX,

 Joni

If someone doesn’t think you’re brilliant Liz…..there’s something not quite right with them.
Thank you for a delightful presentation.

Ms. Smith, I thought you were brilliant too! It’s funny how entertaining a demo - something generally so boring - can been with someone who is obviously comfortable with herself and her subject. Keep it simple. Just like this site. I think your site developers are brilliant too! This is one of the best designed sites, in terms of usability, that I’ve seen on the net. EVERYTHING on the home page clickableWOW! What a concept!

I thought your video was very good except I still can’t seem to find how or where to answer the question of the day, perhaps I’m still too computer illiterate,I’m new to the computer world,or are we even supposed to answer?

YES. Of course you should answer. So…. go to the QUESTION OF THE DAY (or, for older QUESTIONS OF THE DAY, go to the Navigation Bar on top) and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There’s a box that says: TALK TO US
write your comment in there and simply press “Submit”. Try it and let me know if it works… JONI

Opps, Liz, what happened to the separator notice, the insertion tip that showed up when we entered a thread? Has the need for that HTML entry been circumvented, or is it just on multiple line entries? Thank you … I’m now using adaptive software due to a vision disorder, and not having to make that insertion has been most convenient for my “Screen Reader.”

Is there somewhere I can access just MY comments to see if there has been a response? It could get pretty time consuming to go back and dig through all the old posts.

Ditto! I was hoping that would be in our profiles. :) SES http://www.metalcyberspace.com

Liz, I thought you were brilliant too. Actually I always think you’re incredible and love watching you and reading whatever you write. So happy you’re on this site.

THAT helped..but then there is “submit” AND OR ….WHAT? Do we hit both or wait for something to happen? (what is preview?)

There are threethings I wonder about here — First, when I put in my birthday, he system changes it to a day before, no matter how I put it in. (I’ve been working with computers since 1968, so pleased don’t tell me to “reboot.”) Second, could you guys add a general suggestion box for the site, so that us just folks could suggest questions, polls, etc? Third, could you add an “other” category to your polls — yes, no, other? Thanks.

Mugsy, that gives new meaning to “You don’t look a day older.”

Liz your look FAB-U-LOUS! The page break HTML doesn’t work for me. Does anyone else with a Mac have the same problem? Or a suggestion? Thanks!
