Love the album…notice how these women smile so naturally, as do most women, when they are aound each other. There is a beautiful Ann Richards video montage at Hillary Cinton’s campaign site…quite moving.
Liz, what great photos. I loved Ann Richards. I remember writing to her and thanking her for her wit and spirit. She sent the nicest note back. I miss Ann Richards. Especially during this campaign season. By the way Liz, you must be a hoot yourself! Great ladies surround themselves with other great dames!
what a great website saw you ladies on charlie rose’s show last evening yeah!!!!!!!!! for this GREATNEWWEBSITE just for us ladies i, too, loved ann richards she would have been a great president i can’t believe those texans who voted you know who in and her out they have lost their minds if they had any to begin with
Just saw your roundtable on Charlie Rose. Now I’ve read 2 of your articles; I fully believe Anne Richards and Molly Ivans are cracking up every soul near them, even if they didn’t spend much time together here!
Thanks for sharing your photo album. I live in Buenos Aires and got to know Ann Richards reading about her in American newspapers and on CNN with Larry King Live. I had a ball every time she was invited; so witty and full of life, down to earth and funny. And there was also your column talking about your friendship and comings and goings in New York. Couldn’t believe it when she died so suddenly. Thank god you keep mentioning her in your column now and then because silly as it may seem, in a way I do miss her too.
I, too, discovered this fantastic site last night by watching my favorite show in the world: Charlie Rose. I am so excited there is a place such as this for us to learn, grow and share our experiences; rather like a candy store for the mind.
I admired Ann Richards. To me, she had it going on in every way; she was physically beautiful and lovely on the inside. She could make me laugh and make me pause and think. She also made me less afraid of growing older in this society that doesn’t always hold in high regard our most valuable older women. It is my belief this site and the women here aim to change society’s attitude about those of us who have just begun to reach our prime. I wish I could have met her and told her how much I respected her.
Liz is no doubt a hoot, too, you can just tell by the devilish twinkle in her eye!
Thank you so much for sharing these, I have always had more than tremendous admiration for Ann Richards, what an incredibly smart, witty, strong and admirable presence she has been and continues to be.
Holland Taylor as Ann Richards!!! Well, perhaps Taylor will get the star-turned she has long deserved and Gov. Ann will have a dame as classy as she was to portray her. Beautiful column!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful pictures of a beautiful, smart woman with us. I met Gov. Richards in April of 1992 at a 1st Amendment conference at the University of Texas. I had been a fan of hers long before and she just reinforced my belief that she was not only a savvy politician, but a funny, delightful woman. She would have been a good President!!!!
