Environmental Inspirations: Mother Earth Care-toons by Jane Wagner

Photo Essay

What would the birds, the fish and the animals say about the green movement…or the current lack thereof among so many of us two-legged inhabitants of Planet Earth? wowOwow contributor Jane Wagner knows…and shares some of their secret thoughts through her inspired series of environmentally and socially-conscious cartoons…or “care-toons” in wowOwow parlance. Jane Wagner’s Mother Earth Care-toons…only on wowOwow.

If we all invest in the greenest interest we can find, couldn’t we bring down La Palin, save the planet and re-create the economy? Am I wrong to dream?

Jane, Your care toons say a thousand words and cut right through any shenanigans. It’s put up or shut up now. Brilliant………………………..

Jane, All of your art is just touched with love.

Jane, I agree with Frannie. The concern for the environment is so evident in the eyes of the creatures you illustrate. Then you go and put a smile on my face with the “fish bowl” caretoon.

I wonder how I [almost] missed this page…? Anyway, I really would love to have a tangible collection of these care-toons. My favorites are the fishy ones. Omega Oils versus Oil Slicks - disturbingly clever. “We’re FISH, right?!” - hardly, anymore. The list of “safe” fish to eat seems to grow shorter and shorter each year… Fish is the only meat I’ll eat, too. (Sorry ladies, I won’t touch the hot dogs — even if they are nitrate-free. ;-P) Thank you for making this icky world a more livable place through your honest observation, Jane.

I love these. They soothe my day to come and flip through them. Are the elephants fabulous or what? It reminds me of the Babar art. I loved Babar. I had it in French. I remember like nothing of my childhood, except Babar! lol. Babar and Heidi. I thought they were like the cats pajamas. I still think so.
