Christie Brinkley, Martha Stewart, Helen Mirren Out on the Town at the Opera (photos)

Photo Essay

One of New York City’s first big gala evenings of the fall season is the opening night of the Metropolitan Opera. Last night Robin Platzer, wowOwow’s eye on the evening, was out on the town … taking pictures of the red-carpet arrivals at Lincoln Center. For the first time, the opening night was simulcast to 500 screens in theaters worldwide, inspiring far-flung opening night parties all around the globe.

I liked the blue dress and the nice necklace on Barb Walters.

I like the color of Martha Stewart’s dress. Helen Mirren looks adorable. Hi, James. I missed your one-liners.

Wow. This is a lovely way to spend an evening. I loved seeing John Lithgow, and James Taylor and the wonderful cross-section of American culture, all gussied up for the Met. It’s great to see. Thanks.

I thought Martha, Barbara and Joy were the best dressed of the ladies in the pics. But then, they all usually dress really well.

I love Martha stewart and think what was done to her was wrong. To think of what was done to her while the people who brought the whole economy down not only goes free, but keeps they’re jobs………….How is that………. Martha stood strong during a nightmare and she held her head up hgh during and she is a great leader and a great example. I hope she is more successful than she ever was and it seems she is……… May God continue to bless her. I can relate to unjust treatment and how people can almost destroy you, but never giving in ……………. Standing strong and moving forward and doing even better and greater things than you ever thought was still in you. Martha Stewart?……………She is a great lady.

I remember crying for two days when PETA named poor Martha on their 2004 worst dressed list for wearing fur. Thanks goodness she came to her senses while in her re-education camp while doing time in prison and renounced her fur wearing ways. Now she has been fully rehabilitated and is offering her fabulous Vegan Coffee Cake Adaptation to all her guests!
