Louboutin's New 7-Inch+ Heels on the Red Carpet: Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria (Photos)

Christian Louboutin’s newest stilettos reach for the moon – but starlets aren’t shying away. Is there such thing as too high when sexy’s concerned?

Photo Essay

This summer wOw reported on Summer’s Scariest Stilettos but Christian Louboutin has taken it a step further this season. Whether we’re calling them Cougar Climbers or Sarah Palins, these shoes just might be to die for.

Well, it DOES double as a weapon…

I feel like kid in “A Chorus Line”. “I can do that!” Gorgeous, gorgeous. Especially those gold ones, and Eva Langourian obviously knows how to strut them. I hope I never have to give them up. And if I do, they minute they start rolling me around in my wheelchair, I’ll dig them out of the cloest and feel like a child again!

Ridiculous…I would never torture my feet, back and legs like that. Give me my ballerina flats any day!!

I’d fall all 12 stories down to the floor in a minute! Also, all of the people in the pictures look like they’re not wearing stockings. Are stockings out now? I’ve padded around in my slippers so long I haven’t a clue.

I like the hidden platform in front — really cool design idea — so you can get that very high heel in back. Yep. If I were in my 20s, I’d absolutely want a pair. Can’t decide though — the black in slide #1 or the red in slide #4 … dream on …

They are designed by men so why don’t they make a REAL fashion statement, and start wearing them? Would that not be a gas?

I’m amazed that anyone can walk in them. It would be a broken ankle for me. I think anything that’s fun, and doesn’t hurt anyone else is fine. They look a bit like art to me.

Well said Charles! I notice it is okay for male designers to torture women’s feet for a zillion bucks a pair, but what man is EVER going to wear shoes that uncomfortable?

The shoes look silly, and not even pretty. As for anyone wearing a heel over 4”, don’t complain to me if you fall and break your ankle. Or sprain it. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that wearing a shoe with a buildup like that is asking for a terrible accident. Just ask the runway models that have suffered bad falls because of their unstable footwear.
