Marjorie Don’t cry. You’ll have your little guy again and so glad you saved another and gave him the chance at a life filled with love. Yippy, you’re going to get him a friend. Even though they love us to pieces, and we fill a great portion of what they need, they need one of their own kind for the company, conversation and companionship that comes with having a playmate. :)

To Duncan’s Mommy: Our black lab got vestibulitis recently. We thought she had a stroke too. It scared us pretty badly. She is only 8 or 9. We adopted her from the Humane Society in 2005 (she was a surrender). Anyway, she was diagnosed about two months ago, and seems to be a a little better. But she still tilts/leans to the right, and has trouble with the stairs. Does it ever go away completely? Or will it ebb and flow?

I’m sorry to say that Rosie, our chocolate lab in the slideshow, was diagnosed with lymphoma last week. The vet doesn’t expect her to be with us more than a few months longer. :-(

Sending energy to Rosie, I know what you are going through.

Why is it that women and their dogs form such a tight bond that it just tears us up when they have to go? The pics in the slide show and the stories make me cry for love of all dogs.

Like all of you, I am a dog person.  I am a firm believer in going to the Animal Shelter.  There are so many "throwaways" just waiting for a loving home.  Please always consider adopting from the shelter or the Humane Society.

I shouldn’t read this kind of stuff at work - especially Rainbow Bridge -all teared up.  My boy, Chet Winston Oliver, is a 10 year old black lab/rottie mix (looks like a lab with a giant head!) & is the love of my life.  He’s been with me through the loss of my husband & more, wanting only love.  He’s blind, diabetic & afraid of floors.  He was the worst puppy on earth (his training class suggested he not come back) but is now the best I’ve had.  Our fur-babies are big bundles of unconditional love.
