I think all the women listed are wonderful and do ourstanding things to help change the World for the betterment of all mankind. I voted for Oprah as the top woman because she reaches more people. Women and Men alike. She seems to touch the lives of the Ordinary person to Celebrities, Political Leaders. Leaders from around the World. Religious leaders. Scientific people……..Doctors and Medical people. She just seems to reach out and share with all the people of the World. She not only shares her Money and influence she shares her Soul. I’m grateful I’m on this Earth at this time to be able to see the progress these strong, intelligent, loving women are making in all our lives.

I think Sarah Palin has shown true grit under adversity. Real down to earth Traditional American Values of ambition coupled with hard work. She walks the walk. Others will nit pick, rationalize, and demonize everyone she ever knew, everything she ever said, or everything she ever did. She walks tall in my book.

Others will nit pick, rationalize, and demonize everyone she ever knew, everything she ever said, or everything she ever did.”… sounds rather more like what Sarah Palin has been doing to Barack Obama.

Sarah, unfortunately, does not have a shred of even handed coverage from: NY Times, DC Post, La Times, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Time, US, People, Newsweek, USA Today, Boston Globe, Des Moines Register, Google, Yahoo, etc, etc… Consider how the Liberal Obama Candidacy has needed ‘all this media’ to slant, omit, distort, and promote Sarah’s records of achievement yet her popularity grows. Now that’s a Maverick! If equal time and unbiased coverage of her huge turn outs at rallies all across the country (60,000 N of Orlando) were given the ‘same’ attention to details there wouldn’t even be a race. It has taken Sarah Palin less than 6 weeks to gain the support of millions versus Barack Obam taking more than 2 years of campaigniing. while fawning mild, incurious, ignored failures this very same media , who provides ‘marketing outlets to business’

If Sarah wants some equal time, let her do a press conference and actually have to face the media. McCain tried his best to protect her from actually having to open her mouth, but it still didn’t work.

Susan Duffy, Apparently you and many others may have missed the obvious when it comes to Sara Palin. She was being used as a pretty face and a sex object in order to win votes for McCain. NOT because she is actually capable of leading America, or making life and death decisions for the free world. If anyone disputes this, I suggest they get more information about the objectification of women, and the dual standards by which most women are judged. If that doesn’t help, learn more about the psychological issues regardng the “Madonna - Whore Complex” - This is quite a simplistic point of view. I do not want to cloud the issues with too much dogma and detail. Suffice to say, I am making every effort I am able to, to advance the cause of women, not to diminish us.

Sarah Palin is a blip on the radar compared to Hillary Clinton, Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany or Tipzi Livni Prime Minister of Israel.

That Book being the : The New Testament of the Bible re- produced by Professor Pawn Sinha Printed in 2003 As the World’s most tiniest books, not much room to stand up in…. Really Ms. Duffy you are in some kind of Republican denial to believe this women as contributed anything except comic material. Even at best she lacks judgment in her appointees to her Cabinet back in Alaska and to have thought about her offer from McCain in the very beginning to think she was good enough for such a position was a clue of poor judgement. To truly know your not qualified for a certain position is a honest assessment of oneself and that person has my attention. I hope you understand this in a kind way.

sarah palin does not belong on this list of women ;who’re truly making a difference in the world! … She has done nothing ! …  She’s a poor representation of good parenting! … What parent with good judgment and moral character allows her teenage daughter’s boyfriend to sleep over in the same bed? … She’s inarticulate, lacks intelligence and she’s not informed! … She’s a media Wh—e!

s,p. is a pathetic character conservative and republican racists parade before the media!

Great women making a difference are women like Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Wangari Maathai  (Noble Peace Prize) , Ayaan Hirsi Ali and First Lady Michelle Obama!

hillary clinton should not even be on this list! … okay, she was a senator and is now part of the Obama Administration! … But what has she done? … Sorry , running for the presidency and being married to a former president  does not make you a great woman and contributor to the world !

Melinda Gates—from Wilipedia: The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (B&MGF) is the largest transparently operated[2] private foundation in the world, founded by Bill and Melinda Gates in 2000 and doubled in size by Warren Buffett in 2006. The primary aims of the foundation are, globally, to enhance healthcare and reduce extreme poverty, and, in the United States, to expand educational opportunities and access to information technology. The Global Health Program’s other significant grants include The Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization The foundation gave The Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization a donation of US$750 million on 25 January 2005.[17][18] The Institute for OneWorld Health The foundation gave The Institute for OneWorld Health a donation of nearly US$10 million to support the organization’s work on a drug for visceral leishmaniasis (VL). Children’s Vaccine Program The Children’s Vaccine Program, run by the Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), received a donation of US$27 million to help vaccinate against Japanese encephalitis on 9 December 2003.[19] University of Washington Department of Global Health The foundation provided approximately US$30 million for the foundation of the new Department of Global Health at the University of Washington in Seattle. The donation promoted three of the Foundation’s target areas: education, Pacific Northwest and global health. HIV Research The foundation has donated a grand total of US$287 million to various HIV/AIDS researchers. The money was split between sixteen different research teams across the world, on the condition that they share their findings with one another. Financial Services for the Poor Financial Access Initiative A $5 million grant allows Financial Access Initiative to do field research and answer important questions about micro finance and financial access in impoverished countries around the world. Grameen Foundation A $1.5 million grant allows Grameen Foundation to make more microloans, with the goal of helping five million additional families and successfully freeing 50 percent of those families from poverty within five years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_and_Melinda_Gates_Foundation These are only a few of things that the Gates have accomplished thru the Gates Foundation. And this is a direct result of Melinda gates’ drive and vision. This woman is at the top of my list of heroes and women who have made an incredible implact on our world.
