Great shots ladies. The photo in the ‘wartime’ suit looks a lot like my mom when she married my step-father. I always thought she didn’t have a wedding dress was because she was already a widow at 19 yrs old. Thanks so much for the explanation. Mom would never explain it that way…even to this day.
Thanks for the lovely wedding pictures! Brides were not always white. It is said that before Queen Victoria was married in white, brides wore their best dress which of course was NOT an impractical white. Coco Chanel who broke with all kinds of fashion traditions introduced her short wedding dress in the 1920’s.
Great fun to see. Thank you, Founders. Ms. Evans — your husband looked a lot like Robert Downey Jr. does now, a real cutie. Ms. Thomas, nearly everyone was in love with your husband; I certainly can understand why you would throw caution to the wind and jump in! Thank you again for sharing those moments.
Gosh, you all looked gorgeous! It’s not just the ravishing dresses; it’s the looks of love in your eyes. Thanks so much for sharing your wedding photos with us.

My mother was serious about pearls. Your comment about the odd number sparked a similar memory. She also had something about odd numbers. I remember as a little girl rubbing her pearls on my teeth to see if they were real. She said that was the way you could tell the authenticity. I don’t know if that applies today. However, you have encouraged me to go to the lock deposit box just to count the pearls on the one necklace left. Eventually, it will go to my niece and I would like her to know this story. Thank you!
Josie, I was always told that same story about pearls as well. I also am completely hooked on odd numbers…all but those with a 5 in them. I wear 3 gold chains, one has 3 pendants, the others only 1. I wear 11 gold bracelets on one arm and 3 on the other. If I forget to put the correct number of rings on when I leave the house…I turn around and go back home to put them on. Did I mention that I’m OCD and Anal Retentive?
