Was worried about Ms Martin and the latest flood of Venice. Outside my kitchen window I have 3 bird feeders and they are always occupied with a variety of birds. I love it. I may get a photo going yet.

I was just watching a helicopter fly along the shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico…it’s sunny, balmy, blue skies, palm trees swaying…paradise!

One day, before I die, I have to spend one winter - just one winter! - in a warm place (other than hell). P.S. I love the St. Jude CRH ads above. Attractive ads. Jennifer Aniston, bless her soul. How she remains so down-to-Earth living in Hollywood is a mystery.

James …. that’s funny. Personally, when I have to tiptoe through the ice in the early morning darkness, start my car and spend the next ten minutes scraping, sweeping, trying to drive while peering through the foggy window and hoping never to come into contact with “black ice,” I feel like I’m in hell already. I think it’s going to be a long winter.

Yeah, I do that routine every day, Gianna. Not only having to scrape the windows, but the wiper rubbers, as well. And having to kick ice chunks in the window wells that build up. It’s already been a long winter, and it’s not even officially winter yet.

I know how you feel James. I lived in Montreal for 2 years while waiting for my American visa. I worked in a bank and we wore all sorts of underwear, boots over the shoes, and the lockers were filled when we started to strip and look nice for the customers. Cars were put away for the winter not to be seen till spring. I remember buying a rabbit fur coat on credit and my mother writing that I was caught up already with the bad habit. She had no idea how I needed that coat. That was in the early fifties. In our last years before Bob got ill I would save for 1 month in Destin. For me that is heaven. I hope to do it again one day. So for you James I wish one month in Destin and you will be fitting with all the “snowbirds”.

At the risk of being bashed by Suzanne for talking sports again, I have to say it would’ve been great going to Montreal Canadien games at the old Forum back in the day. They were legendary in the 1970’s, with Scotty Bowman as coach, and players like Guy LaFleur, Serge Savard, Ken Dryden, Yvon Cournyer, Peter Mahololich, et al.

Ouch James, you are a young pup, I was in Montreal in 1953 and 1955, Remember going to a Canadiens game one time. Also remember being in the middle of a riot on St Catherine street , something to do with the Canadiens. Cant remember one name of them. Now I watch the last 4 games till the cup is delivered, the only sport I watch too.
