Accused Wesleyan Killer to Plead Not Guilty

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

Stephen Morgan, the 26-year-old accused of shooting Wesleyan student Johanna Justin-Jinich to death earlier this month, will return to the court room today.

Morgan is currently being held on a $15 million bail not only for his alleged role in 22-year old Justin-Jinich’s murder, but also for journals found after the crime. Those journals "justified" going on a killing spree, one that targeted Jewish people.

Morgan’s lawyer says he will plead not guilty, WTIC reports.

Oh, this is going to be choice. I can see it now, diminished capacity, insanity, or a "Twinkie" defense. This, that or the other made him do it.

While I AM interested in what influenced him, where he got his  feelings of anti-semitism, his stalker mentality, what made him tick. He is guilty and needs to be removed from society.

I am so sick of the ‘not guilty by reason of insanity’ plea and defense. Yes, you have to be mentallly disturbed to harrass, stalk, and kill someone, but there is no way this guy does not know the difference between right and wrong. He carried out a premeditated ambush.

Yeah, sure, the devil made him do it. How do attorneys who represent these creeps sleep at night?

Very good question…johnny cochran isn’t having a problem any longer, if he ever did…..this guy is going to be a waste of tax payers money, if he pleads insanity, then he will be out on the streets in a few years….sometimes our justice system makes no sense…..once again the victim’s families are the one who suffers the most through all this.

Years ago my cousin was moonlighting as a cab driver - he had 3 small kids and a pregnant wife at home. Two teenagers got in the cab, held him up for something like $35 and shot his head off. The kids were 15 years old and as such the court sent them to a juvenile facility.  They were released when they were 18 and within a few weeks together they killed someone else for cash. This time, however, they were tried as adults.

Andrea, such a sad story about your cousin, I am so sorry, and 3 small children…so very sad.  So now another family is suffering for their loss also because of those same teenagers….it just doesn’t make sense.  At 15 yrs of age, they were old enough to know what they did…if you can kill at 15, then society does not need them on the streets.  Same way with this creep now…if they don’t try him for first degree murder, then justice will never be served.

Thanks, Libra Lady. This happened almost 40 years ago but it is still painful. This was my aunt’s only child and she was devastated until the day she died. His wife and children - I can’t even begin to describe what they went through. And then the other family. I’m a huge believer in justice, but this business of giving them wimpy sentences is ridiculous. My feeling is that sentences have to be so tough that they are deterrants. Just maybe it might make someone think twice before they commit a crime. Of course nowadays we don’t have the money to support the inmates so they let them out much before they should. Maybe Saudi Arabia has the right idea about Friday in the marketplace.
