Sarah Palin, Ethics Charges | 07/22/2009 9:35 am
Sarah Palin Fights Back Against More 'Bull Crap' Ethics Violations

Ever the spunky one, Sarah Palin is fighting back today against new ethics charges that say she used donated money from a legal defense set up for her to pay for her own legal bills.
"I am informed that this fund was created by experienced attorneys in DC and was modeled after other similar funds established for senators and others. The fund itself was not created by me nor is it controlled by me," the Alaska governor said in a statement. "Neither I nor my lawyer has received a penny from this fund, and I am informed the Trustee was withholding any action or payment pending final resolution with the Personnel Board. This is the hallmark of legal compliance and prudent conduct."
Palin also took to Twitter to blast her critics.
In one tweet, she wrote: "In violation of Ethics Act more allegations were filed today by serial complainer;gave to press be4 we could respond;ridiculous, wasteful … Some ask why not sue abusers of Ethics Act bc state wastes 1000’s hrs/millions of tax dollars to fight (and win!) frivolous charges, tho … it costs political critics NOTHING to file/play their wasteful game; They should debate policy in political arena, not hide w/process abuse."
Palin’s lawyers say the funds haven’t been distributed at all yet and Palin had no role in the creation of the Alaska Fund Trust, adding that the accusations consist of a "grossly unfair portrayal of her."
The new report, written by an investigator for the state personnel board, came in response to an ethics complaint filed after the fund was established. First reported by the AP, the report says the legal defense fund was trading on Palin’s status as a public official to solicit donations, which could amount to improper gifts under Alaska law. It recommended that she refuse to accept money from the fund and ask the state for reimbursement instead.
"There is little doubt that the Alaska Fund Trust will provide ‘personal gain’ to Governor Palin because the trust will provide a benefit to the governor’s financial interest," Anchorage lawyer Thomas M. Daniel wrote in the report.
This is just the latest in a string of ethics charges levied against Palin, most of which have been dismissed. But still, Palin has been forced to pay big money to defend herself against them. She says she owes $500,000 in legal bills, and that the continuing "bull crap" charges are one big reason she decided to resign from office this month. She will leave the governor’s office this weekend.

"birther’s" "tea baggers"……what will the new buzz word be next week from the diversity, tolerant, womans rights advocate minded left! ?
Starry-
You are welcome to read this. They are facts. Take care!
The independent investigator who has accused Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin of violating state ethics laws is a major donor to the Democratic Party as well as a partner in a law firm that represented Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.

How do we know? Because a COURT found the charges unfounded.
sarah’s a puppet? LMAO
take a look at the empty suit with the telepromter in the whitehouse.
he’s Soros’s puppet… bought and paid for.
Well, check this out:
this pallen woman is such an incredible liar and thinks we are all as dumb as she is.
as for the presidents sentiments on the cambridge arrest of the man in his own house—-if that cop isn’t as dumb as dirt then his actions certainly were the most stupid he could have come up with.bush and chaney are gone, we have constitutional rights back get used to it.
He’s thought by some to have leaked a recent report that appeared to have unfairly criticized Sarah Palin for her legal defense fund and has given money to Democrats over the years, as well as being a partner in a law firm that represented Obama’s political campaign. Yeah, one can’t get much more ethical than that (story link here). Good grief!
Who said Alaskans do not love Palin….
Palin picnic marks beginning of the end

WASILLA, Alaska — Gov. Sarah Palin kicked off the first of three picnics marking her departure from office with a hometown tribute to the troops and an elbow at the news media.
Speaking before a friendly crowd at a park here Friday night, two days before she resigns, Palin invoked her soldier son to assure supporters that she is not downcast over the political frustrations that are prompting her to quit before her term is up.
She told the hundreds gathered in a military “Honor Garden” that she wanted to “do something… more worthy than speaking politics” before sharing a story about a reporter who had asked her about how she handles difficult days.
“I said, ‘Oh no,’ it is not a down day – my son called this week from Iraq,” Palin recalled, referring to her son, Track, an Army enlistee. “He is safe, he is sound. It is always a good day when my son calls.”
Interrupting the applause, Palin said: “I wish that some in the media would keep things like that in perspective, what is really important in our country. And what is important is our freedoms, America’s security, our liberty.”
Later, citing military families that have lost loved ones, she again drew loud applause by saying: “Let us continue to love our country, be proud of our country, never apologize for our country.”
She concluded her remarks by noting that it was the last time she’d appear in her hometown as governor, thanking the city that first elected her as mayor.
After she was done, one man yelled out, “We want you as our commander-in-chief,” prompting more cheers from the crowd and a military-style salute from Palin.
But that was the only hint she gave as to her future plans.
In a brief interview before the governor addressed the crowd, Chuck Heath, Palin’s father, said he didn’t know what was next for his daughter.
“I wish I knew,” Heath said. “I have no idea, honest.”
Noting that he had just spent several days with her on a local river, Heath quipped: “She’d be a good poker player. She never divulged what she’s going to do.”
Dressed casually in jeans and boots, Palin wore a blue star pin over her sweatshirt, signifying her son’s deployment. She spoke for about five minutes before spending over a half-hour greeting scores of people with relatives on active-duty.
With an emcee holding the microphone, a procession of Alaskans and some from the Lower 48 states came forward to briefly introduce servicemembers they were honoring, before shaking hands or hugging Palin and taking a blue star flag from her.
Some used the opportunity to pose for a quick picture with Palin, others offered her blessings and thanks, but most were more focused on their loved ones abroad than their fleeting encounter with the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee.

Some Alaskans love her and some don’t. I wish she would stay in Alaska.
regarding ethics complaints….
It’s true that Zane Henning, who has already had one frivolous complaint tossed, filed a complaint about her per diems. But the fact remains that she was entitled to collect them. She didn’t collect them for her kids or her husband, though she was legally entitled to do so. And the Juneau governor’s mansion was undergoing extensive repairs at the time. She collected a $60 per diem in lieu of having the state put her up in a hotel or a rented apartment (which they did for Tony Knowles and Frank Murkowski for much much more money). You find me a decent hotel room for a family of seven for $60 a day. Here’s a fact no one can dispute: She spent less that her predecessors! Sarah Palin and her family cost the State of Alaska less than her predecessors.
(As a side note, people often forget that state senator Kim Elton was charging the state per diems to travel from his house in Juneau to the State Capitol in Juneau! And he charged more money for per diems than Gov. Palin did! And his per diems were only covering the regular and special legislative sessions. Gov. Palin’s were for the entire year. Where’s the outrage, anklebiters?)
And as for the taxes, she had no idea that the per diems were taxable. That was only discovered when tax attorneys from around the country combed through her tax returns during the election.
