Liz Smith predicts 'Obama' movie cast

Several movies are in the works about the lives of this famous White House family … Will Smith has already said he wants to play President Barack Obama. Now, two A-list celebrities are interested in portraying First Lady Michelle. Will it be Angela Bassett or Halle Berry? Both equally talented and beautiful actresses, but there’s a bit of an age difference. Watch me on Fox News for all the gossip swirling around the inevitable "Obama" movie:

I would vote for Angela to play Michelle, Halle wouldn’t be appropriate at all.

WOW….I would ask that you remove my above post because I had copied one of merrell g’s post and changed the names who she directed this to be to Steve. These are not my words, I was just showing how she was attacking posters here and they were quite personal attacks. Now that merrell g’s post has been removed, it left my post and these are not words that I use. Thank you. As you can see, I did the same with burca’s comments…just copied and re-posted her personal attacks but changed the posters name she had intended it to be towards. Thank you.

Both of these actresses- although extremely talented- are simply too short to play Michelle Obama- need to go with an unknown.

After watching Angela Bassett on ER, I really don’t think she could pull off playing Michelle Obama. I don’t think she has the warmth or carisma of Mrs.O.

I think she can pull of playing Michelle Obama anytime. You realize that she is playing that character on ER. She is a good actress; and good actresses are able to take a character and immerse themselves as that character. If she is able to convince you of that harsh character she currently portrays on ER, she is very capable of portraying Mrs. Obama. I have watch her play Tina Turner etc and she was fantastic. It would be interesting to watch her portray of Mrs. "O"

Michelle Obama is not "biracial", she is BLACK. The Black community would never support that movie with Halle Berry in the role, but of course White Hollywood producers are too stupid to realize what a bad investment they’d be making. I don’t think Angela Bassett should get the role, though. I think that Kimberly Elise is so OBVIOUSLY the perfect choice to play Michelle Obama. She looks more like her, has the same mannerisms, the same coloring and would be a SMASH with the black community in that role, thus translating to Box Office dollars. Amazing how it still hasn’t sunk into Hollywood’s minds that they would make more Box office dollars in the Black community by using more Black actresses and give the OVER-hyped Halle a rest. So sick of her; and that’s SICK of her—not jealous.

In order to be "jealous" of someone, you actually have to admire them.

I admire Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Diana Ross, Viola Davis, Angela Bassett, Bette Davis, Sophia Loren,
Whoopi Goldberg, Drew Berrymore, Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn.

To me, Naomi Campbell is "HOT", Beyonce is "HOT", Iman is "HOT". Those are women I would like to look like. Halle Berry
is BORING and "passe" to me.

I’m jealous of Barbra Steisand and Whitney Houston because they can sing.

I think Halle Berry is over-exposed, washed up and boring as hell. NEXT!

It’s no jealousy, it’s just that I don’t feel in "AWE" of her like I do Meryl Streep or Barbra Streisand.
In fact…I don’t admire Halle.

Hmmmmm. Interesting question. I think physically, Angela is more of a fit for the role and she definately can act. Halle is a bit too petit to play Michelle Obama, but is an equally talented.

I don’t know if I’d put Will Smith on as the Prez, I’d go with Denzel Washington or some other maybe unknown actor. I love Will Smith, but just not sure he’s right for the role.
