Ann Coulter Explains Palin's Exit

By Ann Coulter
© AP
Editor’s Note: Ann Coulter is a political commentator, syndicated columnist and bestselling author. Her latest book is Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America.

I’m confused by all the confusion among the chattering classes about Palin. I thought her press conference explained it very clearly – though she couldn’t put it precisely this way without sounding vain, but it’s obvious.

Even though she’s just a state governor, she’s a HUGE national star who is both sought after and attacked as if she is already a president (a Bush, not an Obama). But she basically can’t participate because she’s tethered to the governor’s office up in Alaska. Consequently, she has to fight with one hand tied behind her back and she also can’t go around the country campaigning for candidates and principles she believes in – because she’s governor and would be accused of neglecting the state.

Meanwhile, the Lt. Gov. is a great guy, so she’s leaving the state in good hands and now she can go on to be an even bigger star.

It’s a weird Washington insider perspective to be perplexed by what she’s doing. Contrary to Mark Sanford’s e-mails to his mistress, no one was really impressed with him; 99.99999999999999999% of Americans didn’t know who he was.  Who is more influential: Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge and Bill O’Reilly, or Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal and Mark Sanford (before the fall)? As Palin said, God bless people who run for political office, but – and she didn’t say this part – she’s too  big to be a lame-duck governor stuck dealing with fishing licenses in Anchorage right now.

She’ll be much bigger now and can play on the national stage without constantly setting off state ethics investigations by loons, parasites and liberals. None of this applied to McCain or Kerry – both of whom went back to the Senate – because their national campaigns diminished them. Palin’s national campaign made her a major star. As she said, she’s not retreating, she’s advancing in another direction.

Kelly, you’ve been busy over the weekend in defending Sarah Palin.   You’ve done an excellent job as usual.   What has happened to a strong woman who dared go into public service is a disgrace to all women.    Those who have jumped on the democratic bashing campaign should quite frankly be ashamed.   I wish Sarah Palin tremendous success in whatever path she elects.   She is not "a quitter" she is a "survivor" something all of us can relate to.

So sad Deber…women tearing apart another woman…all over pro life and traditional marriage. It’s like watching a tiger eating eating her young on this thread. Something so very disturbing about watching it.

Too bad that women really aren’t as evolved as they like to pretend…they are still reacting to the ding ding dinging of the master’s bell….

I hope that you are having a great weekend…I am about to eat a burger ( one less farting cow you know) and then going to work….

Women aren’t "there" yet because it drops to the levels of jealousy over her accomplishments and her God given good looks.  No one on this site comes anywhere near the accomplishments of this "young" woman who rose to the heights of being elected a Mayor and a Governor.   She started out "behind the eight ball" and pushed through with her dream…and all women on the left can do is try to bring her down because she is a republican.   They should all hang their heads in shame.

I have not been a fan of Ann Coulter but what I can say is that I admire her ability to get to a position where her voice is heard.   It doesn’t matter to me if I don’t agree with her "delivery."   What matters is that she worked to put herself in a position of "being heard."   How many of us can say the same?

Now that was to the point Deber…and on target.

Ann Coulter delivers her own information straight forward, she doesn’t send a pack of paid for "reporters" out to do her dirty work…and she’s devastatingly sarcastic…sometimes that just makes me laugh…

Then there are those "writers" that value their own opinions so highly…that they allow themselves the "right" to refer to a young woman as being "knocked up" and calling a poster a horses ass in so many words. Interesting how some women put themselves in the place of the "abuser"…makes one wonder, what their past has really been….with the projecting and all…

But, alas..there was obviously some damage done there, early on and we can only hope that treatment of some type may be sought.

But like the saying goes…I’d rather be a horses ass, than (write) horsesh!t……

i’m certainly not jealous.

i don’t want to get knocked up as a teen in highschool and be pressured into marrying my baby daddy.

i dont want to have 5 kids. i’m not jealous of that lifestyle in any manner.

i don’t want to be anti-patient (pro-life) - i trust in doctors to make decisions regarding my medical care, not a politician.

i don’t want to be a bigot who works towards discriminating against gay marriage rights.

i don’t want to go to 5 different colleges for a single journalism degree.

i don’t want to quit my job halfway through the term.

i don’t want to parade my family on stage for the country to make fun of in an attempt to win votes.

and all women on the left can do is try to bring her down because she is a republican.

then clearly you haven’t been listening.

i am against her because she is against medical freedom for women and their doctors who know whats best for them. i am against her because she actively works towards banning gay marriage rights. she works against implementing and funding effective educational programs for our children to keep them safe and healthy, and free from transmitted diseases.

i couldn’t care less what she called herself, if she was a democrat i would denounce her idiocy even LOUDER because i expect better from intelligent people.

What matters is that she worked to put herself in a position of "being heard."   How many of us can say the same?

dude, even Satanists think Ann Coulter has lost her mind to the Dark Side!

the things she says are downright evil and disgusting, how can you applaud her for saying these things?

On [Fox News Channel’s February 7th] Hannity and Colmes, Alan Colmes confronted Ann Coulter with the following statement she made at the Conservative Political Action Committee conference:"We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed too."
Coulter whined to Colmes, "I didn’t know we were talking about this tonight, but now that you’ve sprungit on me…" but confirmed she made the comment and boasted it was a "huge hit with the audience."
Colmes: "You hate liberals. You despise liberals. This is unbelievable. We should execute them to make liberals scared?"

the true tragedy is that you, nor sarah palin, nor deber, will understand that being "pro-life" and being against gay marriage is ripping real women apart.

you don’t care about those women, kelly. and neither does palin. which is why i would never want her in any leadership position. i dont care what genitals she has, she could be a big fat black man for all i care - what she stands for is wrong, and she deserves to be taken down for being anti-woman, anti-patient, anti-gay and anti america.

gay people are Americans, they are women, and they are being ripped apart by you and Palin by barring their right to marry and have a family.

you don’t believe in their right, as women, to have a family with who she loves.

that’s what is truly sad.

Amanda, please don’t rail on those who don’t agree with you.   People think differently.   Even President Obama believes marriage is between a man and a woman and he is definitely not alone.   There are but a small percentage of our population who are gays and lesbians.   They need to live their lives the way they want to live their lives, move to states that allow marriages, whatever, but they really need to recognize that they are a very small percentage of our population.   The majority rules…and if good and decent people are voting against something they have the right to do that.   They don’t have to see things "your way" to fall into your category of what makes a good and decent person.   We are in a free country…with freedom of speech and freedom to worship anyway we chose….gays and lesbians need to understand that their lifestyle is not what the majority of people feel is a number one priority in our country.      In Middle Eastern countries, gays and lesbians are killed, slaughtered, chased out of the countries but not so here in the United States.   Here they are safe and can live the way they want.

You need to be patient.   America is facing many changes.   All in good time….hang in there.

Deber, it’s really sad to think i’m "railing" against those who "disagree" with me, when all i want are equal rights that you and your wonderful male husband enjoy.

Deber, blacks are a small minority. Can we discriminate against them just because there aren’t "enough" blacks to make a difference to you?

this discrimination against minorities is quite disgusting and unamerican. I don’t care what "other" people think of my relationships and my marriage: they do not matter to me. My love and partners and marriage is MINE, just as YOUR marriage is YOURS, deber.

Do you think people should be able to vote on your marriage?

We are in a free country

silly me! a free country? oh sure! let me just go down to the courthouse and marry the person i love!

oh… wait… if i have a vagina… and my love has a vagina… it can’t happen.

that is not a free country.

gays and lesbians need to understand that their lifestyle is not what the majority of people feel is a number one priority in our country.

so if someone is in a minority, this country does not care for them or make sure they are treated as equals?

i thought that’s what America was?

i dont see straight marriages being picked apart with the hate and fervor extremist christians do to homosexual partnerships. there are tons of straight people with sick lifestyles that no one wants to deal with, but they can get married to whomever they please!

i could grab a pedophile rapist in a bar tonight, drive to vegas and marry him and never see him again, and no one would ever protest and rally to ban my marriage! but if i loved a woman for 20 years monogamously? OH! HEAVENS! CALL THE POLICE! THE MAJORITY OF AMERICA DOESN’T AGREE WITH MY PERSONAL LIFE! LETS PUT IT IN THE COURT!

how is someone elses opinion on my personal life any reason to bar me from enjoying the equal rights you and your husband enjoy every single day?

In Middle Eastern countries, gays and lesbians are killed, slaughtered, chased out of the countries but not so here in the United States.   Here they are safe and can live the way they want.

deber, i am trying to keep my blood pressure down right now, because you have insulted the very core of me.

you talk as if you are caring, but you don’t care one bit.

you got married without a second thought. you didn’t even know you are ENTITLED in ways some gay people can only dream about - you were too busy picking out your dress, your wedding party, the caterer, the florist, what ring to wear…. who cares about GAYS when you’re too busy gussying up for your big ole weddin’ day?? you don’t care that others are denied that right that you and your husband take for granted every single day.

the fact remains that NO, gays are NOT safe here. i have lived as a lesbian for a number of years and it is a dangerous thing to be.

men want to rape you to "make" you realize you just need a nice good dick. and yes, men have harassed me, they have pushed themselves on me, and they have been physical with me because they didn’t believe that a "pretty" girl could be a lesbian and THEY just needed to show me what i was missing. Forcefully.

if you are a butch woman, women scream at you when you go to the bathroom to take a leak because you look too masculine.

gays are discriminated against in the workplace, and it is very easy to hide the reasons. my ex-butch partner was targeted by an extremist black christian man at her workplace in UPS and he fired her for the smallest reason whatsoever, but allowed the feminine, long-haired, big-tittied blonde to keep working there even when she waltzed in hours late.

gays are still targeted and harassed, made fun of, murdered, raped, just because of their sexual identity.

these are the facts of being Gay in America. children are ripped from their parents’ arms because their parents are gay. you can’t marry the person you love. you can’t see them in the hospital. you can’t adopt their child as yours as well. you can’t adopt ANY child if you have a gay partner. you can’t move into certain areas if you are gay.

there is no safety when we are still demeaned by this burden of inequality.

you can’t "live the way you want and be safe" if you can’t get married to your partner, and adopt a child, and go see them in the hospital.

for you to even SUGGEST that gays are safe and can live the way they want in America shows how little you actually care and think about the lives of gay people.

they are suffering because they can’t marry the one they love, but you can sit back, enjoy your husband and the THOUSANDS of special rights marriage brings. if one of you gets hurt, you can certainly go see them in the hospital. gays? Nope. sorry. not a spouse? not family? TOO BAD, YOU CANT SEE YOUR LOVED ONE.

but sure deber. sit back and enjoy your marriage while gay americans suffer - all because "most" people don’t like the idea.

god bless america, home sweet home. discrimination is OK as long as MOST people agree, apparently.

If you think gays and lesbians are mistreated in the United States, try living in Iran or any of the Middle Eastern countries.   They would chop off your head!!    America is the least racist of any country in the world.   The problem is in America is that everybody wants something everyday….and then when they get it….they want more!

I know you are gay but you have to understand that most people believe marriage is between a man and a woman.   That is what is "normal."   And, of course, I enjoy my husband and my children.    I think your issues are too emotionally charged to be effective.   You need to see the whole picture clearly and be patient.

By deber B on 07/07/2009 4:44 pm

I do not care how bad it is in other places. I am talking about America and this discrimination is unacceptable. PERIOD.

America is the least racist of any country in the world.

…… and this concerns my marriage rights why?

I know you are gay but you have to understand that most people believe marriage is between a man and a woman.

#1, i am not gay. #2, why does it matter what other people think about my marriage?

And, of course, I enjoy my husband and my children.    I think your issues are too emotionally charged to be effective.   You need to see the whole picture clearly and be patient.

i’m glad YOU get to enjoy your husband and children. you don’t care about anyone else though.

it’s sick that you smugly sit back, married and getting free healthcare from the government thanks to your marriage to a person with a dick, while other gay people can’t.

why? because other people are bigots?

of course it is emotionally charged.

IF YOU were not allowed to marry your husband because a bunch of strangers said they didn’t like you, i’m sure you’d be emotional as well.

but i guess you dont see any problem with your freedoms being denied to others you don’t like.

this is not a free country.

I don’t think blacks are discriminated against.   That story went away many years ago.   It’s called personal responsibility now…everyone, regardless of race, can get an education, get a job and, yes, even become president of the United States.   Those cards can no longer be used in America.   Aren’t you proud of that accomplishment?   Next, America will address the gays and lesbians.   Even in the District of Columbia this week they are recognizing gay and lesbian marriages.   That’s progress, don’t you think?

What? WHAT?

wow.

that means you’re definitely white. your priviledge SCREAMS through the computer. don’t talk for others you know nothing about. are there any people of color here who can set deber straight on the realities of being a minority?

how about muslims, or those who are darker and perhaps speak with an accent? you think they aren’t discriminated against either?

That’s progress, don’t you think?

it is not good enough. if they want to move, they will not be "married" in other states. if their partner gets injured in another state, they will not be allowed to see them in the hospital.

real question, deber: how would you like it if you went across state lines or moved to another state, and you and your husband suddenly "weren’t married"? how would you like it if you couldn’t see him in the hospital, or get his military healthcare benefits, or social security benefits, or when he dies, his life insurance?

wouldn’t that be good enough for you?

You just might possibly be on a different planet.  Everything in its own time….a very indulgent America.   Nowhere else in the world is this dialogue going on.   America is a country trying desperately hard to meet all of the "equality" issues.   We’ve come a long way.

Deber, I equate alot of what happened with Gov. Palin as to what happened to Hillary Clinton.   Gov. Palin’s stylized wardrobe=jokes about Hillary’s pantsuits; Palin’s accent=Hillary’s ‘cankles.’  I could go on and on…but the ever so progressive types on the left can’t seem to handle strong women well.  And remember, Condoleeza Rice doesn’t ‘count’ as a woman…she was appointed by George Bush (thereby dismissing her into some kind of gender neutral status).  A woman is strong or successful…well only when some liberal (man???) sez she is…

But on really important ‘women in politics’ news…did you hear Michelle just wowed them fashion wise in Moscow!!!
