Biden's Office Clarifies Swine Flu Remarks
The vice president’s office sent out a statement to clear up his remarks to Matt Lauer.

Vice President Joe Biden caused a mini-scandal today when he told NBC’s Matt Lauer he would advise family members to avoid planes, subways and other confined spaces until the swine flu pandemic subsides.
Well, many people took the lawmaker’s remarks as an official statement that people should be worried, so Biden’s office sent out the following clarification:
The advice he is giving family members is the same advice the administration is giving to all Americans: that they should avoid unnecessary air travel to and from Mexico. If they are sick, they should avoid airplanes and other confined public spaces, such as subways.

Is it just me, or do you get the feeling he’s putting a little something extra in the orange juice they serve in the Green Room?

S. J. this is "standard procedure" now with Joe Biden. He gives an interview and then the White House follows up with what he meant to say.
