Cheney Prefers Limbaugh to Powell, Says Interrogation Saved Lives (Video)

Former Vice-president Dick Cheney remained loquacious this weekend when he appeared on CBS’ Face the Nation.

As has become his custom, Cheney insisted that President Barack Obama’s policies threaten the nation. By rejecting harsh interrogation methods, such as waterboarding, Cheney claims the Obama administration severely limits our intelligence-gathering capabilities, as such methods in the past helped prevent attacks. If Obama released all the Bush administration memos, said Cheney, Americans would be convinced of waterboarding’s importance.

For example, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, an al Qadea operative, gave us "invaluable information" after being waterboarded, the former VP said to Bob Schieffer. He also insisted that the American policies were not "illegal."

Cheney also said he prefers Rush Limbaugh to Colin Powell, the former Secretary of State. Said Cheney: "Well, if I had to choose in terms of being a Republican, I’d go with Rush Limbaugh…" He also insisted the Republican party should not move itself left, but get back to its basic principles, The New York Times points out.

And here’s his remark about Rush:

I say release everything….let’s just see what is out there, not just bits and pieces that are there to destroy the Bush Administration.  What are they scared of by not letting it all out there?  This is why I question what obama and his administration is up to.

You must be just catching up on the news:  the Bush Administration, and I use that term advisedly, imploded quite some time ago with no help from the outside.

I believe it takes time to analyze and declassify intelligence information. If the O folks dumped it all out there, there would be howls of outrage and rightly so. The information was classified by BushCheneyCo - if Dick wanted it out there he should have put it out there while he had the power.

I agree it’s all confusing now, when the timeline is so very imporatant to establish. Support Leahy’s Truth & Reconciliation commission and see where it takes us.

Ah….there is no longer a point to not release these documents. Obama has released enough that our enemies know what to expect, that’s why they were classified to begin with. Now we may as well hear how they were necessary.

Cheney would never go on record if what he was saying wasn’t so…think about it…obviously those documents show that they were useful. Cheney is taunting Obama….he know that Obama isn’t going to do anything, he was just trying to drum up his base while spending our money to the tune of 1.84 TRILLION this year alone.

Obama needed a diversion….Cheney called him on it.

Libra, "What if Cheney’s Right?"    The Obama administration should call Cheney’s bluff, if it is that, and release the memos.  If even a stopped clock is right twice a day, this could be Cheney’s time.

Cheney is right!  Once all of the memos are released all Americans will be able to judge for themselves if the waterboarding interrogation technique produced valuable information.   Although not used since 2003, it may be necessary in the future to use it once again.   I believe that it should only be used in the most extreme circumstances.   So, let’s read those memos and decide for ourselves.

Looks like Nancy Pelosi might join the ranks on the potential war crimes list.   Too bad….Nancy.   Lying to save yourself will only compound your your many problems now.   Wonder who else will be named.   Oh, what a tangled web we weave!

Let’s see, my choices are Colin Powell and Rush Limbaugh:   If you are a republican you might have to go with Rush who tells the truth but in such a way to infuriate the democrats.   If you are a democrat you are sure to go with defector Colin Powell.   He wants the republican party to move itself "left" - uh, Colin, I don’t think so….our country is already far to the left in the danger zone.   We need to get back to what the republican party stands for…..personal responsibility….instead of a welfare country.

Frank, Im not a Rush fan but on the few occassions when his articles are mentioned here, I may visit his website to read the whole transcript not just the parts that were picked apart & from what he says, not in the nicest of ways, is true for him.  May not be true for you but things you say are true for you and not for others.  So yes there is a chance that some of what Rush says is true…whether you like it or not is a different story.

Unless you can tell me otherwise, he is known for telling the bold, bare facts.
