Ex-Aide to John Edwards Talks to Grand Jury; Rielle Hunter-Edwards Sex Tape?

Here we go again. More down-and-dirty allegations about the Edwards-Hunter affair; former aide to admit Edwards is baby’s daddy in book.

Andrew Young, the ex-aide to disgraced former senator and presidential hopeful John Edwards, was in court yesterday before the federal grand jury.

Young’s appearance came during a secret investigation by the federal government into how Edwards spent funds designated for his presidential campaign in 2008, reports the National Enquirer and AP. Young was also the man who claimed to be the father of the baby of Rielle Hunter, with whom Edwards had an affair.

Edwards has denied being the baby’s father.

Young is also writing a tell-all book about the Edwards affair. In the book, not only does Young come out and say the former North Carolina senator is in fact the father of Hunter’s child, he also says there is a sex tape that captures some of the exploits of Hunter and Edwards. The New York Daily News says Hunter also told Young that she and Edwards talked about getting married should his cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth, pass away. About Young’s forthcoming book, it looks like Edwards turned on his trademark charm when he needed to. The Independent reports that Young will write about how Edwards assured him he would be "taken care of for life" if he pretended to be the father of Hunter’s baby. "You know how much I love you. You know I’d walk off a cliff for you, and I know you’d walk off a cliff for me," Edwards purportedly told Young.

Hmmm. Pretty heavy stuff. Let’s see if Edwards responds to these allegations once the book is in print!

First of all C Hardy, Sanford is an elected official who left his post, Edwards is not on the public dime. Secondly the only ‘moralizing’ Edwards did was to say we must take better care of the poor in this country, he did not run on a ‘family values’ ‘sanctity of marriage’ platform.

Also, the Edwards affair blew up several months ago and there was a huge hullabaloo over it then. Sanford is now, and will keep being now as long as he refuses to shut up about it.

Yes that is very interesting, so maybe he should not step down as Governor b/c Im sorry you can’t tell me that someone didnt know where he was, they were covering for him.  If you look back on any video of them talking to the Lt Governor, he was very awkward in saying he didnt know where he was, I think he was lying.

I’ve been trying to find out if you can commit to another term as Governor if you plan to run for President.  I can’t find a definitive answer.  But I did see that there is concern that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal may run for another term only to then jump ship and run for President.  Apparently some feel (rightfully in my opinion) that he would be giving his constituents the shaft if he does do that.

So, why is he promising to reimburse the state for this last trip? Also, when he disappeared without letting his office know where he was or how he could be reached, was it his scheduled vacation time?

Oh God, this is like high school I’m so sick of hearing about everyones sex life. I’m moving to France, where the sex is left in the bedroom not on every paper, blog or tv show available.

At least two men (Edwards and Young) who should crawl back under the rock they came from!  Rielle Hunter isn’t really any better.  No matter how "charming" the person is; there is now excuse for attaching oneself to a married man (or woman).  How degrading.  What will be said to that baby when she grows up?  What about the young Edwards children and finally what does Andrew Youngs wife think?  Just disgusting.

Maybe, the real discusion here should be about talking honestly about what marriage really is. Is there such a thing as a soul mate? Is marriage just an institution created to insure lineage for inheritannce? I’m sixty two years old and can claim to know a few things. It would be interesting to know what makes a man decide to marry  a woman. I suspect he chooses on the basis that she will deliver to his everyday needs and thinks that she is not as intelligent as he. In the case of the Sanford debacle he saw her as more intelligent than he, financially independent with connections to help him in his aspirations in political life. Just a tool to get you to your own agenda. Men and women use one another on the most unconscious level. Honesty, when either spouse has moved on it could make life more momentarily painful but  in the long run a better place to be. You give each other the permission to move on in an honorable way.

Most men like most women marry for love. Unfortunately, there are people among us that don’t have the capacity to love anyone. They just go through the motions and use someone like John used Elizabeth to have a family that loved him. Not being capable of the emotion himself, chased whatever young skirt that would have him.

Republicans aren’t immuned but it sure does seem like the liberals have a pretty deep bench of these guys. Thank god he got caught before we had another 21 year old intern under the desk in the oval office.

I think we can all agree on one thing, politicians like Edwards, Kennedy, Clinton, Dodd, Frank are a special breed. And the wives that stand behind the podium while they issue thier half hearted mea culpas are every bit as wierd.

I think it’s time to remove this thread.  I think we are all pretty much in agreement that "The Breck Girl" and his girlfriend are REALLY old news.

Lady Gator,

I respectfully disagree. This story is the story that keeps on giving.

Now the former Democrat hopeful for president of the Uninted States of America was so arrogant he made sex tapes with his mistress while running for president!

Any chance to further expose the Democrats as the lying, cheating, dishonest, arrogant loosers they are, the better.

Everyday, when I do my little stop by visit (hey can I be a ‘Friend that Drops By?’) to WoW…there he is.  The Breck Girl.  The man-tanned sissy boy who ‘channeled’ birth injured children for gazillions…

Will he ever go away (literally) or figuratively at least…from here on Wow?
