George W. Bush Penning Book on Presidential Decisions

George W. Bush is keeping his forthcoming memoir simple.

Rather than rambling on and on about his life, the former president will instead focus on 12 important decisions he made during his reign in the White House. The book, entitled Decision Points, will be published by Crown Press next fall, reports CNN, and will include passages on Bush’s decision to run for office, his response to 9/11, the days leading up to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and life with his wife, Laura.

Said Bush in the publisher’s official press release,

I am spending time on the book every day. My goal is to bring the reader inside the Oval Office for the most consequential moments of my personal and political life.

I look forward to painting a vivid picture of the information I had, the principles I followed, and the decisions I made.

Oh, Bush — the picture’s vivid enough, don’t you worry.

Coach K responds to Obama’s NCAA tournament picks

Mike Krzyzewski doesn’t like it when his Duke team gets disrespected by referees, poll voters or the media. Now he can add "leader of the free world" to that list.

Responding to an Associated Press reporter’s question about Barack Obama picking against Duke in his much-hyped tournament picks which were broadcast on ESPN today, Krzyzewski said:

"Somebody said that we’re not in President Obama’s Final Four, and as much as I respect what he’s doing, really, the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets."

It’s rare that I agree with Coach K, but I do here. And, in doing so, I also have to say that as much as I respect what he’s doing at Duke, really, making it to the Sweet 16 for the first time in three years is something that he should focus on, probably more than responding to someone having enough common sense to pick against his overrated team.

There’s some chatter that Coach K was speaking in jest, but the AP reporter mentioned nothing about post-comment laughter and Krzyzewski has been long known to take subtle pot-shots at those he is at odds with. The West Point graduate hosted a fundraiser in 2002 for Republican Senator Elizabeth Dole, but received congratulations from Obama after coaching the U.S. basketball team to a gold medal in Beijing.

Krzyzewski’s former player, Reggie Love, is the president’s "body man" and his presence may be required to broker peace between the warring factions should Duke win the NCAA tournament, thus earning a trip to the White House.

Thanks, CNN

Mary:  But hey…did you see Obama sits down with Jay Leno tonight??? How cool is that???

Seriously, I’m beginning to question Obama’s sanity.  He’s beginning to not make any sense.  Being a puppet is one thing, but being a clownish dictator is totally something else.  Or is it straight out, in-your-face arrogance.

The world is watching, and I don’t mean the Brits or the French, but the Venezuelans and the Persians.

Really folks need to leave this poor man alone…he responded to a request for his picks…Its nice to know that the President has Picks and enjoys a ball game.  Duke’s coach should be happy that Obama brought attention to a great game. Who knows how many more fans tuned in instead of tuning out because the President gave out his brackets! Duke’s coach should not be berated for his response either after all how would you feel if someone as famous as the Pesident did not pick your favorite team?

We’re in this together and all AMERICANS better hope he does a fantastic job and does everything they can to support his efforts to heal this Country and get us all back on the track of prosperity.

I for one am one American who has been hurt financially by the problems we are in right now.  Most of my family and friends are hurting in their pocket book also…………..I pray we all recover.

Good morning Dona….we are friends….so no fighting here!!!  We do see things differently, I’m sure when President Bush was THE LEADER WE HAD AND  BELONGED TO ALL OF US, you probably felt the same way as many of us are feeling now….we are just very scared for our country and what is taking place, which not too many dems here are speaking out about.  I spoke up against the Iraq war at the time….and spoke up about some of the things I didn’t agree with President Bush on….but I’m not hearing it here when it comes to obama.  I just think it is only fair to see that obama messed up on this one and not hide it under the rug!

I am so sorry about your financial problems…everyone is hurting….I pray we will recover also.  Nice chatting with you again Dona.

Republicans Get Good News in Polls as They Close the Ballot Gap on Democrats

March 18, 2009 12:14 PM ET | Michael Barone | Permanent Link | Print

By Michael Barone, Thomas Jefferson Street blog

Republicans have the lead in the generic ballot in the Rasmussen poll and are running even in that question in the latest NPR poll. The Republican lead in Rasmussen is 41-39 percent, with Democrats at the low end of the 39-50 percent range they’ve been over the past year and Republicans at the top end of their 34-41 percent range.

Libra:  Republicans have the lead in the generic ballot in the Rasmussen poll…

Obama is going to ruin what’s left of the Democratic party.  Through his mismanagement every crooked Democrat (Frank, Dodd, Geithner, et al) is going to be exposed.  What a mess.

I’m thinking the picture of Bush above if Bush laughing at the silly comments Libs are making in this thread! …like they even know what it is like in his position!

Obama is finding out though…….and his solution is to go on Leno!!
