There’s more former-first-family mayhem in the headlines today.

Page Six reports that a descendant of George Washington, named John Augustin Washington V, smashed an English lad over the head with a vodka bottle at a St. Tropez nightclub, a blow that sent the man into a five-day coma. Washington quickly fled the country but was forced to return. He has been sentenced to 15 years in jail. The spat was reportedly over a woman. President Washington, we’re sure, would not be impressed.

Actually - I think this would be a descendant of George’s younger brother John Augustine Washington.  If I recall my history correctly, George had no natural children; he had two stepchildren but they retained their birth name of Custis.

Lila - You are correct.  George and Martha did not have any children of their own.  She had two children (a son and daughter) from a previous marriage.

Why is George Washington being held up as some standard of morality? Okay, he was a president. The man as far as I’m concerned was bankrupt morally! HE OWNED  SLAVES AKA HUMAN BEINGS!!!!

 Being a relative of a slave owner is nothing to be proud of!!!! OfCourse ,that is unless you’re a card carrying Racist!!!!

George and his descendant can go to —ll !!!

Being a relative of a slave owner obviously has nothing to do with anything anymore.   One can be said to be living in the past  going back 300 years.   None of us alive today are slaves or have ever been slave owners.   That’s a closed chapter in history and to a progressive way of thinking.  It can be said here that   "ignorance is bliss and nonproductive."
