House GOP Blasts Pelosi, Democrats on Interrogations With 'Explanation: Impossible' Campaign (Video)

House Republicans have lobbed another attack against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — only this time, they’re hoping to take other Democrats down with her.
In their latest anti-Pelosi PR campaign, the GOP has released a new video entitled "Explanation: Impossible" — complete with "Mission: Impossible" music — and launched radio ads and robocalls targeting the California Democrat’s claims that she didn’t know waterboarding was being used on terror detainees in September 2002. The campaign also blasts 17 Democrats who refused to vote to support an investigation into what Pelosi knew and when, and whether the CIA did, in fact, "mislead" the Congress, as she claims. Democrats have dismissed the ads as partisan politics.
Regardless of your party politics, do you think there should be an investigation into whether the CIA mislead Congress on interrogation techniques?
Here’s one of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s ads, targeting Rep. Frank Kratovil, D-MD:

Of course the CIA lied. They worked for Cheney/Bush. But I am not sure THIS is the time to add another investigation to an already top heavy work load. I have no doubt a torture investigation will reveal the level at which the CIA accomodated the criminal acts of Tricky Dick Cheney. That administration argued that as long as the President ordered it, IT was not illegal. Does one doubt that same message was sent to all those who were called to do the President and Vice President’s bidding? Puh-leeze.
The recklessness in record keeping demonstrated by the CIA is a reflection of their watching Tricky Dick, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and the rest of this corrupt administration. Walks like a duck….
How naive of you Deborah…never heard of the awful things that happen as a result of group mentality…how individuals in a group would do things, they would never undertake as individuals. If you have never worked in elective politics, you have no idea the rush certain people get with even minimal power. One can only imagine what happens when the sincerely corrupt get elected. Those politicians you do not trust are in charge of the CIA, the FBI and they can tell them what to do?
American voters have chosen to listen to their political party spin rather than using their own brains…we have always had the option of tossing these elected officials, but we have been too lazy. Too many Americans would rather whine about terrible legislators, rather than getting off our butts and working hard to un-elect them. A democracy is hard work…as Obama’s election proved. You have to get out there and work in order to have your voice heard and to make your vote count.
Nancy Pelosi is third in line as Commander in Chief. For her to even suggest that she didn’t know about waterboarding, when others knew, is ludicrous. Pelosi has made a fool of herself and an investigation is most definitely in order.
17 democrats refused to vote to support an investigation. Imagine that!
The GOP needs to stay on top of this….after all, George Bush and Dick Cheney have endured many years of bashing from the left for enhanced interrogation techniques. It is time now to find out how many democrats knew about it as well and approved it.
History will be kind to George Bush.
Hang in there, George. The longer Obama is in office the more the pieces will fall into place for you and your eight years of public service to our wonderful country. Just give it a little more time. It is starting to look like a dominoe effect is starting to take shape.
