GOP Leader: Napolitano Report 'Displays a Level of Contempt for a Healthy Democracy'

By The Staff at wowOwow.com

House conservatives may ask President Obama to have Janet Napolitano step down after the Homeland Security Department released a report warning law-enforcement agencies to beware of "right-wing extremism."

That report, say conservative leaders, amounts to something of a witch hunt, and GOP Conference Secretary John Carter says it proves Napolitano, the Department’s Secretary, doesn’t respect democracy.

Said Carter, via The Hill:

No search or arrest warrant should ever be issued on the pure speculative grounds contained in the DHS report, and this report should never have been issued either. The fact that it was, coupled with Secretary Napolitano’s failure to issue an unqualified retraction and apology, displays a level of contempt for a healthy democracy that demands she be removed from office immediately.

One House official said yesterday that GOP leaders on the Hill will likely bring the matter up with the president: "I think leaders are going to bring it up with the president, maybe call for (her) resignation."

They don’t have a clue about a healthy democracy. All they can do is vote no and play tantrum children because they lost.

Napolitano is a disgrace. She should resign and save the Obama Administration further embarassment. From verbage twists (terrorism is inflammatory and scary—their man made disasterists); Veterans are allowed to be called terrorists, because, after all she WAS Attorney General in AZ when McVeigh bombed OKC…but she knows all; and ultimately everything bad that has ever occurred is Canada’s fault. Then we can talk about her apologies that are more insulting than the original insults. She needs replaced.

Mary, there is nowhere in that report that veterans are called terrorists, in fact the words conservative or republican also never appear yet they seem to be claiming extremists on the right as their own and defending them..hmm.

And FYI, Napalitano was NOT AZ Attorney General when the Murro building was bombed (she was later elected to that post), she was the United States Attorney for Arizona, a federal job. As U.S. Attorney, she was involved in the investigation of Michael Fortier of Kingman, Arizona, in connection to the Oklahoma City bombing.

WOW… yet ANOTHER GOP ‘leader’ with nothing to offer except criticism of the Democrats! They really are bankrupt of ideas and only pandering to the base. Its like watching a dying animal trying to get up off the ground.

everyone i know is celebrating that this archaic, prejudiced party is being shown for what it really stands for - only their christian, white, straight base.

A lot of these so-called "extremists" have guns. It is a real danger.

Good Grief… I know some Ultra Libs who may not have guns but they spike trees, burn down buildings, destroy private property.  Does that make them any less dangerous?

SJ, they are probably the "left wing" extremists that another report dealt with. I don’t hear much about that report but both left and right wing extremist were examined. I read what the report said and it didn’t call our military men /women "terrorists". The GOP asking for her to step down is stupid, don’t they have anything better to do?
