As Dems Attack Limbaugh, GOP Skips Pelosi, Goes for Obama

The Democrats have been aiming their insults at Rush Limbaugh as of late, but what about the Republicans? Where are they looking to hit? While one would think the GOP would prefer House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, it turns out they’re trying to take down an even bigger Democrat, President Obama.
"Pelosi’s a particularly tough demographic to demonize," a senior Republican strategist told Politico, in part because she’s a grandmother. "She’s a woman, and she’s of a certain age level, and that’s a demographic both parties are trying to court." Thus, they’re going right to the top.
"This whole notion that we’re not going to take on Obama but take on Pelosi and [Senate Majority Leader] Harry Reid will get you nowhere," Former House Republican Majority Leader Tom Delay, said on MSNBC Tuesday night. "That’s a minority mindset of playing on the ball field of the left. You need to stand up and fight. And that’s what Rush is doing and why people are gravitating towards him and support him."
Limbaugh’s criticisms of Obama aside, there are already signs the GOP has started in on the President. Republican Rep. Zach Wamp of Tennessee said Thursday that Obama’s health-care plan represents another move toward socialism. House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio, meanwhile, accused the White House of fueling the Limbaugh flames, saying criticism amounts to nothing more than a "distraction created by the administration to take the attention away from the fact they’re trying to raise taxes and grow the size of government." Media Matters has chronicled a series of charges coming from Republicans and conservative commentators blasting Obama for "lying" about things like him saying he doesn’t "believe in bigger government" and for signing spending bills they say are loaded with earmarks.
New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd joined the cacophony Tuesday, writing: "In one of his disturbing spells of passivity, President Obama decided not to fight Congress and live up to his own no-earmark pledge from the campaign. This is the first pork-filled budget from a new president who promised to go through the budget ‘line by line’ and cut pork."
But PolitiFact.com notes that during the presidential campaign, Obama vowed to "reform" earmarks, rather than get rid of them altogether.
Whatever the GOP’s strategy is, they’re doing a good job hammering away at Mr. Obama’s presidential honeymoon.

Deburca —Maybe you should check your criticism of a person’s medical problems before you spout your venom. Rush Limbaugh is deaf in his left ear. A few years ago he had a Cochlear Implant. All doctors will tell you that after receiving this implant your voice will sound strange to the person. So, it will suggest to the patient that he is speaking in a lower voice. It made his voice higher in sound to those of us listening to him.
It’s the same operaton that Marilee Matlin had some years ago.
As for hacks —what in the world was the MSM handing out to its anchors that caused the slobbering and the tingles down their legs during the presidential canpaign.
Rush Limbaugh is a cyst on the butt of modern American culture and I don’t care if its his drug addiction or some ear disease that makes him as vile as he is.
And why don’t you go to the Jon Stewart thread and watch the video of the financial hacks you people love so much and see how their "predictions" turned out in the last year? Or would that burst your bubble and force you to face reality too much?
DeBúrca: …Jon Stewart…
Isn’t he a comedian? A performer? Do you really take him seriously?
Rush is nor more the voice of the Republican Party than Oprah is for the Dems. ..or is she?
Wow - the Democrats are criticising the Republicans for listening to Rush Limbaugh and you are showing me a video of a comedian. Mr. Stewart is possibly like Rush - he’s looking for his few minutes of fame. So it’s tit for tat.
I have my own chart, in the business of Wall Street, they call it a "chart". My chart shows a big red line going DOWN the page - starting from January 20, to present the stock chart has gone from 7,949.09 to 6,594.44. That’s a $2.5 trillion market loss - all down - don’t see too many bleeps going up. And, gee Deburca, this chart was furnished to me by my big, nasty, evil, broker. And, by the way, he certainly isn’t one of the "big boys". Have you ever been to the Stock Exchange? All those people on the floor, answering phones, their assistants - all the way down to the mail boy - just folks - just working class stiffs, making a living and paying the bills.
If you want to point your finger at the ex-CEO of Merrill Lynch - go ahead ! However, he wasn’t the ONLY CEO involved here. There is plenty of blame to go around. The really bad guys would be so many they would fill the floor of the exchange. And, there is a saying that has proven to be true in my lifetime —"As the Stock Market Goes, so goes the World".
So, now Cramer, Santeli and Rush Limbaugh have made the "enemies" list of the Obama administration (ala Richard Nixon). There will be others to join their ranks. So they disagree — wow. What are they supposed to do - shut up, be quiet, just follow like lambs to the slaughter.
Sorry, Deburca, there are many people out there who will be living in fear of having no money saved when they really need it. There are many people who are mad as hell about this stimulus package. And, they are starting to speak up. I would like to think that the hope and change I heard about was possible - that hope, for me is dwindling with each passing day. I don’t want to be one of those followers who walk blindly into a pit - I prefer to run the other way! And, believe me, it does fit MY spin!
