Huckabee Demands Resignation in 'Fancy Nancy' Pelosi Poem

Former presidential candidate and current news commentator Mike Huckabee broke out his poetry while criticizing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi has come under fire from Republicans after last week suggesting the CIA "misled" Congress on waterboarding, and most of the vitriol has been standard political posturing. Rep. John Boehner, for example, insisted Pelosi apologize. Huckabee, however, has called on her to resign, and penned the following poem, entitled "Fancy Nancy," via GOP 12:
Here’s a story about a lady named Nancy
A ruthless politician, but dressed very fancy
Very ambitious, she got herself elected Speaker
But as for keeping secrets, she proved quite a "leaker."She flies on government planes coast to coast
And doesn’t mind that our economy is toast
She makes the Air Force squire her in their military jets
There’s room for her family, her staff, and even her pets.Until now, she annoyed us, but her gaffes were mostly funny;
Even though it was painful to watch her waste our tax money.
But now her wacky comments are no laughing matter;
She’s either unwilling to tell the truth, or she’s mad as a hatter!She sat in briefings and knew about enhanced interrogation;
But claims she wasn’t there, and can’t give an explanation.
She disparages the CIA and says they are a bunch of liars;
Even the press aren’t buying it and they’re stoking their fires.I think Speaker Pelosi has done too much speaking;
And instead of her trashing our intelligence officials, it’s her nose that needs tweaking.If forced to believe whether the CIA and her colleagues in Congress are lying;
Or it’s Speaker Pelosi whose credibility and career is dying.
I believe in the integrity of the men and women who sacrifice to keep us safe;
Not the woman who has been caught flat-footed, lying to our face.I say it here and I say it rather clear —
It’s time for Nancy Pelosi to resign and get out of here.
Say what you will about Huckabee — and Pelosi — but this poem’s pretty clever; not that we’re surprised — whether he’s right or wrong, Huckabee’s always been a quick wit.

Well Apparently he believes, in his heart, that he can combine the two. My Grandaddy was a Baptist preacher and worked for the railroad. His saying was "During the week I work for the railroad and on Sunday’s I work for God". And, he combined the two until his death. I did think the poem was quite funny and very original - I don’t know whether I would consider it a mockery. And, since I don’t know God personally I’d have to guess he wouldn’t think it too "over the top". Certainly not a mortal sin.
I think Huckabee has already decided that his "calling", so to speak, can be combined with the political arena. I know several preachers in my area who have combined the two and been successful in both. Maybe its because they don’t push their religion on anyone - they are just good people. And, most are extremely honest. Wouldn’t that be something new. An honest man, who just happens to be a preacher, who writes poetry, and then becomes President or Vice President. I respectfully disagree with you - I don’t see anything hypocritical about it!
Nancy just seeks personal/political advantage in just about everything. She trashed Hillary in the primaries while pretending to be neutral (or was supposed to be). She is in favor of free choice in abortion, which is against the Catholic religion she is supposed to be following. I bet if the anti-abortionists became the majority in both the population and the media, she’d be out there opposing abortion.
I enjoyed Huckabee’s poem very much.
And that quote of Nancy trying to find her way through those (supposedly) messed up pages when being asked about water boarding is hilarious. Her mind was definitely messed up, trying to find the best way out of the situation. Not necessarily the truthful way, the best-for-Nancy-way.
She is still lost in that mess. Ha.
I am getting sick and tired of all this torture talk and complaining…War is ugly and always has been. Torture happens and I am not sure how it got believed that the United states was above torturing terrorist…I guess because someone told us that we did not torture? We tortured people in a time of war,on the terrorist that want to kill us, they blew up our buildings and planes and would blow up a whole lot more if the chance be given. I think that torture is wrong but I also believe it is a reality and that its not going to go away on any side of war. What do you think those people do if they capture one of us? I am pretty sure that waterboarding is the least of our worries.
I am a democrat but I think Nancy needs to step up and admit she lied or resign
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says that she was misled by the CIA on waterboarding. She spent eight years complaining about how dumb President Bush was and the minute she’s in trouble, she says he fooled her. Jay Leno
Claire: she may well be telling the truth on this occasion (though I doubt it, given the indications from elsewhere and her behaviour when asked) but that still does not stop her from being a conniving person in instances mentioned in my post and Huckabee’s poem about her.
OTOH being accused of something you did not do or say is a terrible situation for anyone, including Nancy. Innocent people have committed suicide in such circumstances. I recall a teacher accused of being a paedophile and after his death the accusation was found to be totally groundless.
"Innocent people have committed suicide in such circumstances".
In Pull-a-lie-osi’s case, I wouldn’t mind! Her evil goes beyond her lies.
The case against Nancy Pelosi remaining Speaker of the House is as simple as it is devastating:
The person who is No. 2 in line to be commander in chief can’t have contempt for the men and women who protect our nation. America can’t afford it.
To test how much damage Speaker Pelosi has done to the defense of our nation, ask yourself this: If you were a young man or woman just starting out today, would you put on a uniform or become an intelligence officer to defend America, knowing that tomorrow a politician like Nancy Pelosi could decide you were a criminal?
Would you? This Isn’t About Politics. It’s About National SecurityThe controversy swirling around Speaker Pelosi isn’t political - she may think it is, other liberal Democrats may think it is, and the media may want it to appear that way.
But this isn’t about politics. It’s about national security.
At issue is whether Speaker Pelosi was informed, at a briefing by intelligence officers on September 4, 2002 when she was the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, that the CIA had used and was using enhanced interrogation techniques - specifically waterboarding - on captured al Qaeda terrorists. From a Question of Memory to a Question of CriminalityPrior to her now infamous press conference last week, Speaker Pelosi insisted that the CIA had not told her in 2002 that waterboarding and other enhanced techniques were being used. At last week’s press conference she went beyond this position to assert that "the only mention of waterboarding at [the September 2002] briefing was that it was not being employed."
In contrast, Leon Panetta, the current CIA director, wrote a memo last Friday to CIA employees in which he stated that "our contemporaneous records from September 2002 indicate that CIA officers briefed truthfully on the interrogation of [Al Qaeda terrorist] Abu Zubaydah, describing ‘the enhanced techniques that had been employed.’"
And so the question, prior to her rambling press conference, was one of memory: Did Speaker Pelosi remember correctly the briefing she received in 2002?
If she had confined the controversy to her memory versus the CIA’s, Speaker Pelosi may have saved herself. She would be guilty of irresponsibility and incompetence perhaps, but that would basically be it. Not good, but not disqualifying. Pelosi on the CIA: "They Mislead Us All The Time"But Speaker Pelosi did not confine the question to the reliability of memory. Instead, she made the allegation last week that the CIA intentionally misled her - misled Congress - and not just once, but routinely.
"They mislead us all the time," she said.
She charged that the CIA, deliberately and as a matter of policy, violated the law by lying to Congress.
And with that allegation, Speaker Pelosi disqualified herself from the office she holds. Why Did Pelosi Escalate the Controversy into a Full Scale War With the CIA?And the question that remains is why? Why would Speaker Pelosi escalate the small skirmish she found herself in over the 2002 briefing into a full-scale war with the CIA?
Perhaps it’s because if America knew that Speaker Pelosi consented, fully informed and without complaint, to waterboarding back in 2002, it would reveal the current liberal bloodlust over interrogations for what it is: The Left’s attempt to hunt down and purge its political opponents.
Remember what America was like in September, 2002, less than a year after 9/11.
America was terrified. As I said on ABC Radio last week, our entire defense, intelligence and justice establishment expected that there would be additional al Qaeda attacks, we just didn’t know where and we didn’t know when.
If Pelosi Consented to Waterboarding in 2002, the Bush Policy Is VindicatedIf Nancy Pelosi believed that waterboarding was justified in 2002 - just like Porter Goss, President Bush, Vice President Cheney and CIA Director Tenet - then a policy of selectively using enhanced interrogation techniques in carefully circumscribed ways in order to prevent future attacks - in other words, the Bush Administration policy - is vindicated.
But rather than admit that President Bush, when faced with an array of difficult choices, made the hard choice that kept the nation safe, Nancy Pelosi has instead retreated into the cheap sanctity of ignorance. She didn’t know, so she claims. That’s why she didn’t do anything about it.
But President Bush did know. It was his job to know, and he made the tough choices needed to save American lives.
It was Nancy Pelosi’s job to know too. But to avoid culpability for the choices she supported, she’s now telling us she didn’t know. And she’s calling the intelligence officials who say otherwise liars and criminals.
Shame on her. Speaker Pelosi Has Made America Less SafeSpeaker Pelosi has damaged America’s safety.
She’s made America less secure by sending a signal to the men and women defending our country that they can’t count on their leaders to defend them.
And every day they spend worrying about being politically persecuted is a day we are made more vulnerable to a nuclear attack on one of our cities, a biological attack on one of our subways, or a bomb going off in one of our malls.
America is losing ground because of Nancy Pelosi’s contempt for those who defend her.
Democrats owe it to their country and our national security to replace Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.
Nancy Pelosi is not the problem. Nancy Pelosi is not accused of torture. She is accused of knowing about torture.
Both Pelosi and Cheney need to cool their jets.
