It seems we never get tired of hearing news about America’s closest thing to royalty — the Kennedys. But today there’s scandalous news that could fuel your appetite even more for tidbits of the country’s most iconic family.

The New York Post has an exclusive story today on how a new book claims that Jackie Kennedy had a four-year affair with Bobby Kennedy — John F. Kennedy’s brother — soon after her husband’s assassination, and that "everybody knew about the affair." RFK, who was married and father of 11 kids, was Jackie O.’s "true love," according to the book Bobby and Jackie: A Love Story, written by author C. David Heymann, who spent almost 20 years scouring old FBI and Secret Service files, among other items, for evidence to include in his book. He also quotes people like the late Franklin Roosevelt Jr., who served in JFK’s Cabinet; Arthur Schlesinger; Gore Vidal; Truman Capote; and Morton Downey Jr.

Some of the other scandalous charges: It was Jackie, not RFK’s wife, Ethel, who told doctors to take RFK off life support after he was shot; the pair were seen kissing and touching in Palm Beach during Christmas 1964; a Commerce Department official saw Bobby and Jackie on the couch together, with her straddling him, in July 1966.

Meanwhile, historians and experts are weary of Heymann’s tome, saying that portions of the book are attributed to only a single source and claims are unreliable. One of the book’s disbelievers include Pierre Salinger — Kennedy’s White House Press Secretary — who says the tales are total "bull."

Dahlings, I have nail polish older than that rumor.

I hope they both found some peace of mind and happiness.

And honestly, it’s none of our business.

I don’t think Jacqueline Onassis had an affair with Robert Kennedy.  But…this article says Pierre Salinger says the allegations are bullshit.  Pierre Salinger has been dead since 2004.  C. David Heyman said that Onassis and Kennedy had an affair after she died in 1994.  Maybe Salinger said that then.  Please clarify.

this article says Pierre Salinger says the allegations are bullshit.  Pierre Salinger has been dead since 2004.

That’s right, which goes to show that this claim is no bombshell.  The rumor, true or false, has clearly been around for quite awhile (the age of Mommy Dearest’s nail polish notwithstanding).

Two disparate news items come to mind here: The Bible—the oldest written version, which is dated to at least 400 years after Christ died, recently being made public—and this new biography. Both seem to have suffered time’s re-interpretations and influences.

The Kennedy’s will take their place in history and many more stories will be retold. Back in the day people speculated about Jackie and Robert -he was dashing and she was a beauty -how romantic- the greving widow—-   Oh well. What family is next?  What other stories are lurking waiting to be told ?

Let the dead remain that way—-if you are not going to say something good, then don’t say anything—-let them rest in peace.

I have a real sense of distrust in anything that this author would say about anybody named Kennedy. As I recall, a lot of people dispelled much of what he had to say when he wrote "A Woman named Jackie" and I saw a few interviews with him back then and felt that the impression was that he was one step down from a National Enquirer type of writer. That he has things in this book with only one validation makes me think based on that impression along with the number of books he has written about Kennedy’s that he is just a celebrity stalker.I have better things to do with my time than buy any of his glorified gossip written years after the deaths of people who knew better but were not available to comment.

Pierre Salinger could have called the story "bull" when it first circulated and he may be quoted in the book, but on the "deadoraliveinfo" website he’s reported to have died in 2004.

Let’s see the pictures! This story is obviously bull shit, considering what staunch Catholics the Kennedys are. It is very well known that the Kennedy boys would never look in lust at any other women except their wives. Poor Jackie was so in love with JFK. She could only cope with her grief by marrying JFK’s look-alike. Onassis.
