Letterman to O'Reilly: 'You're Too Smart to Believe What You Say' (Video)

David Letterman wasted no time bashing Bill O’Reilly when the talk show host appeared on Late Night Tuesday.
The funnyman first poked fun at the Fox News host’s ratings (though he should have done his research because O’Reilly champs prime-time cable news). Letterman, an outspoken liberal, also threw verbal punches at the staunch conservative personality for his affinity for Rush Limbaugh and boycott of Sean Penn’s movies.
O’Reilly should have known that sparks would fly. In 2006, the "Late Night" host questioned O’Reilly’s credibility as a journalist, when he said, "I have the feeling about 60 percent of what you say is crap."
Letterman’s feelings obviously haven’t changed. Last night, Letterman gave him the back-handed compliment: "You’re too smart to believe what you say." Watch a clip of this latest love fest below and tell us what you think:

O’Reilly has also announced he’s boycotting Spain because international investigators there are signaling they will investigate six Bush-Cheney officials for torture.
The six said to be targeted are Bush’s Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, Bush Justice Dept. lawyers Jay S. Bybee and John Yoo, Bush Under Secretary of Defenese Douglas Feith, Cheney legal adviser and chief of staff, David Addington and Bush Dept. of Defense General Counsel William J. Haynes II.
The inquiry is being headed by the same investigator who brought Chile’s right-wing dictator Augustin Pinochet to justice for his role in torture and atrocities. The action is being taken under the 1984 Torture Convention, signed by Ronald Reagan and 143 other world leaders, that requires that all instances of torture be investigated and those who are found to responsible brought to justice.
If the investigations into the underlings is successful, it’s likely the tribunal will also move on to charge their superiors, including Bush Secretary of State Colin Powell, National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice, Attorney General John Ashcroft, CIA Director George Tenet, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney and George Bush.
In April 2008, Bush told ABC News that he had approved of meetings by his top aides to discuss and manage the CIA torture program.
So far, the government of Spain has had no response to O’Reilly’s threat that he will personally boycott the country if they pursue the investigation into the Cheney-Bush torture regime.
Actually, its all in how you look at the interview. Mr. O did show why he has been ‘number one in the ratings for 100 months.’ He handled Letterman pretty good.
Its ok to disagree politically…O’Reilly thinks for himself; as does Letterman. My only compliant, ‘Funnyman…’ (referencing Letterman)? Maybe more like mildly amusing on a good night…
I love Letterman these days. It’s good to have a grown up on tv. Who would have thought HE would be it?
Speaking of Sean Penn, I rented ‘Milk’ over the weekend but have not had the chance to watch it. Tonight I hope to do so.
