Limbaugh Compares Democrats' 'Quest for Power' With His Drug Addiction; Andrew Wilkow Blasts Perez Hilton

Rush Limbaugh got a bit loopy yesterday when he attempted to compare the Democrats’ ruling style with his own drug addiction. Speaking on his syndicated radio show, the right-wing shock jock insisted that the Democrats are "addicted to power because they think it is their birthright," and brought up his own recovery by saying he knows that addiction can make people "irrational."

From Limbaugh’s website:

Have you ever had a genuine addiction to something? Well I have and let me tell you about it. It makes you entirely unreasonable and irrational. It is all you care about. Nothing else matters no matter how important … it doesn’t matter as much as the addiction. Feeding it, the fear of not being able to is what animates your existence every day. These people are addicted to power because they think it is their birthright. And I’m not just talking about the people in Washington, elected officials, I’m talking about some of — not all — but some of the rank and file, madcap insane liberals that you will find blogging, that you will find e-mailing, that you will find on the protest march. Their lives are basically meaningless, their addiction to power and dominance and control is what drives them.
Limbaugh wasn’t the only talk-radio host making outrageous comments yesterday. Andrew Wilkow, who was guest hosting the "Mark Levin Show," raised eyebrows by referring to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who is a lesbian, as a "nice little boy," and gay blogger Perez Hilton as a "vile sodomite."

Just more hatemonger speach. Amazing how vile they are.Todays topic for Rush will probably be Rand Paul for making sense on Rachel Maddow. I think Rush ,it seems the republicans can’t stand they don’t have power anymore. This behavior then is withdrawl?

LOL, someone right here on wow made an "outrageous comment" very, very similar to this yesterday, only about Republicans.

Oh man!!!  Does Rush read WOW???

"And I’m not just talking about the people in Washington, elected officials, I’m talking about some of — not all — but some of the rank and file, madcap insane liberals that you will find blogging, that you will find e-mailing, that you will find on the protest march. Now, I’m not a big Rush fan, but that quote was right on the MONEY!  Thank you WOW for finally posting a complete quote from him!

I am not a big Rush fan either but he was his own way of articulating what many republicans are thinking and not saying.

I believe part of their addiction is the hating and chewing of George Bush, Dick Cheney and others.   Many hate Bush without benefit of any research.   They hear it, they believe, and they spew it.

All I can say is God Bless America and God Bless the Republican Party and our Independents sitting on the fence taking it all in!

Yep, the Independents ARE taking it in, and Limbaugh and Cheney have them heading for the hills. Limbaugh only speaks to the fringe base and Cheney is the most hated politician in the country and is just out there trying to pollute the jury pool for his trial. None of this attracts anyone to the party, it only speaks to the echo chamber of the base.

You hope anyway..huh DeBurc!   This Independant thinks otherwise.

I know, and the polls back me up. This is fringe element talking here, and from your posts it is where you fit demographically, so calling yourself an Independent means nothing. The majority of Independents are not extreme right, they are moderate to left and this Limbaugh talk is NOT helping the GOP cause. So you can agree with your party’s leader all you want, keep him talking, it only helps the Democratic Party.

They make me laugh when they say they are "independent" and after you read what they post they generally talk exactly the same way as the Reps!!  Limbaugh and Cheney both are real carbuncles for the Rep party but they don’t seem to get it and think they are both great in many respects, but like you said it only helps us out more and more!

"independent" is the new acceptable "republican".

Lemon:  "independent" is the new acceptable "republican"

If Independents are the new Republicans, it is Obama who drove us there.
